Cool Titan NXG Super+ Briefs, Opinions?

Im thinking about getting a pair of the leg less NXG Super+ single ply briefs to use under my Metal Viking V-Type squatter and Im just curious if anyone has used the briefs or even the material before.
Also we should get a gear review thread going, let me know if there is any interest.

i just bought a pair, its my first foray into gear, but not the legless ones. I tried them for a couple of sets, but my form was off as I kept tipping forward. they had great stopping power at parallel but no pop, but i wasnt going heavy at the time as I was trying to get the groove. I plan on adding them to my next training cycle...

they might work for you though, you have the gear experience, but I dont know if the Viking gives you pop or just stopping power....

Im talking real gear son, if it ain't two plys and laminated I don't want to hear 'bout it.

I will start one up in the next couple days, we should come up with a format for it though so they are all consistent.

haha too bad Im a raw lifter. That's about as gear intensive as I get. And my federation (USAPL) is only single ply too.

Single ply is the way to go IMO, Double ply is just a little to ridiculous for most lifters.

Right now I am considering staying a raw lifter but people keep bringing safety to my attention that shirts and suits also help support your joints so I am torn right now. I am going to go to my first meet in April and compete raw and decide from there what I want to do.

yeah, i dont know what the decision point is supposed to, some people jump straight to gear, others like the toil of lifting raw, and then theres the rest of us, just confused.....

I have some goals i've set up as my gear decision point, which pretty much amount to getting as close as i can to a 1700 total, because then gear will help me achive my Elite ranking. Doable? I hope so...

My total is just over 1000 right now so I don't feel that gear will be very helpful. I think that it will prevent some strength gain and that I will end up relying on the equipment. My bench is about 235 which is quite low but it is all that I have right now. I think using a bench shirt wouldn't be beneficial for me right now.

Using gear will still increase your raw strength a lot, but it just isn't the most efficient way to do it. If you throw a bench shirt on now, your tricep strength will build up pretty quickly.

I will probably use a shirt after this competition because I am competing against people who are using gear and as far as I have seen there isn't a raw category available in the USAPL.

"I think that it will prevent some strength gain and that I will end up relying on the equipment."

That is a false assumption if gear is used correctly.

I agree a lot with this statement. I can be hard sometimes though to find that balance between gear work and raw work, but working with gear will increase your overall strength and teach you to strain through heavy weights.

Thanks for the info guys. I suppose I was looking at this whole gear subject wrong.

On topic of the briefs, they are just a Centurion Super+ suit with no straps....and the Cent Super+ is the best single ply sq suit on the market imo. Tons of stiff stopping power, and a steady strong rebound.
