I am a registered Republican. The Republican party at the time (1984) made the most sense to me.

My political beliefs would be described best as Libertarian by todays standards, although there is an Anarchistic vibe to the Libertarian party. My core beliefs are true 1930's vintage Libertarian which is a socialist structure without central power.

Today this is most similar to how E-Bay works, there is bottom up governance that is administrated centrally but is ultimately controlled by the end users.

I don't see, and haven't seen the entire time, exactly how the oil thing fits in. Exactly where do we theoretically get any value from the oil? We've spent I forget how many billions on a war that was authorized by Congress. The oil's price is controlled by OPEC, the oil money goes to Iraq. And before you bring up the nonsense of "Then why aren't we going into Darfur" its 2 easy reasons - The sissy democrats will vote against growing the american military any larger so we dont have the manpower since we are already engaged elsewhere, and Darfur has 0% chance of attacking the US or US interests. The issue is tax money going to pay for food and health care for children of illegal immigrants. Even for citizens. Why should my tax dollars go to pay to feed your children while you are alive? Why do democrats refuse to accept personal responsibility? People drive around in Camrys on 22s, and because their primary income is illegal, untaxed, and unrecorded they can and do collect federal benefits including food stamps, welfare, section 8 housing, and medicare. Even leaving out the camry part, there is no constitutional right to food, no constitutional right to a home, no constitutional right to medical help. If you are going to say there is, please quote where in the constitution or bill of rights it is. This is not something the federal government should be shelling out tax dollars for. Local areas up to the size of states can deal with that issue as they choose, including using real estate taxes or sales taxes to fund it. That would fit the constitution.

Again, the Iraq war is the sort of thing federal tax dollars are supposed to go for, protecting american interests for both the long and short terms.

I'm really more a libertarian/constitutionalist than republican, but c'est la vie, we're stuck in a 2 party system, which will only get worse if we go to national primaries. i wish we had 1 man one vote, a democracy rather than a republic.
