Supplement Control Bill Again
Got this off another board, thought I'd bring it over.
Posting this hear as it get's more traffic.
Read on the meso forum, lame duck congress is apparantly looking at tacking legislation onto an existing bill to give control of supplements to the FDA. Bad, bad move...
LEF has set up a neat way to let your senators and representatives know your feeling. System automatically sends a canned message to your legislators-

This leislation is a primary move to make the USA compliant with the world trade organization CODEX mandate. Although technically the USA is not an official member of the WTO, we have been acting in compliance with most of its regulations as per an executive order signed by Clinton(signed it during his impeachment trial!!)Originally Posted by CDB
The power elite want to normalize the country to this indoctrination, but officially there has to be a two-thirds ratification for the USA to join any treaty. Once the USA is a WTO nation member then all trade is governed by the WTO. They have a list (CODEX) which will mandate all approved foods(includes evrything you may ingest) Any country that does not comply with the list will not be a favored trading nation and can be sanctioned. Any herbs or suppliments that do not appear on the CODEX will be illegal to import or sell in the USA---yikes!!!!

Its not so much the govt as it is the ones that want to give up our rights as a sovereign nation.Look how well this has worked for other nations.>sarcasm<
Our founding fathers and all the brave men and women that gave their lives for our INDEPENDENCEwould be turning in their graves if they knew that people were trading freedom for POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.

Alright. Your right about that. However, getting shot with a fifty cal rifle still sounds more pleasant than being a slave to the government.

Sure this may just be about supplements, but this is the start of a BAD trend. If we let them have controll of our bodies, they will then gain controll of our minds, and then finally our souls.
If we loose supplements, we will need to fight to get them back, then we must fight to get weed and roids, then eventually all drugs. Will it happen? I dont know, but the bells of freedom will be silent untill then. Sadly, I once had a kid tell my coach that I was on steroids. I told the kid that if he wanted a boost, he should try creatine. Yes, he did fully believe creatine was a steroid because his lacrosse coach told him to. Lets hope that guy doesnt get a lax ball to the nuts a few times this season, eh?
Off topic (well actually not really)..
My cousin got busted with weed a few days before thanksgiving. Some members of my family were bashing him, but I stood up for him. I asked my aunt what her thoughts were on abortion, she said "it has to stay legal, i mean its the womans own body" I quickly responded with "pot must become legal, its your sons own body." She just sushed me away and went on eating.
Now how is that on topic? The majority of america has that attitude where they just "shush away" claims that supplements and roids should be legal. Sadly, senators have the same shush away attitude. Maybe one great day we will actually get human beings in the senate instead of wallets.
I'm going to go out on a limb. In my oppinion, an armed rebelion on this matter would be justified. No I wouldnt join it, drugs are not worth my life. However, the American Revolution was based on several issues, but mainly taxation w/o representation. As americans today we do not have free will over our bodies, and we wont until (ill keep it on topic) steroids are legal. Now which is a more basic human right, ones right over their body, or ones right to be represented in their government? Thats a close one IMO.

We are slaves, and we are on a road to tyrany. Like I said above, they get our bodies, they get our minds, they get our soles.Originally Posted by Skyblue

I'm actually starting to think like this. I hate socialism and I love the free market, but I'm sick of arguing with the government. If they would just out and out socialize the whole healthcare industry I don't think I'd give a **** at this point. Hell, it might even be better for me for a while before the systemic problems start kicking in. And since I'm not planning on having kids I have to need to worry about the far future, so **** it. Give me free **** like the Dutch and Swedes do. And naked female volleyball teams and legal weed too while we're at it. I'm tired.Originally Posted by Jayhawkk

It seems this may be coming soon. If people accpet govenerment regulation for what food they choose to consume (see the trans fat ban allowed in NYC) I doubt they will have any issues with regulating vitamins, supplements, etc.
Remember, it is for the greater good fo the country! Sounds a little odd, yes?
