A really Important article on the Deficit from a magazine for Government Executives, called, oddly enough, Government Executive.

Of note is a graph on the hard-copy of the article (not on the web) that show GAO projections which indicate that by 2040, the debt interest burden alone will be grater than projected revinues. So much for tax breaks increasing revinue.

Or as a friend said:

Aside from not being able to accomplish much within our own borders
when not able to even service our debt begs the question of what
options we will have as a nation to back up our agenda(s) with the
funds to implement a course of action - even if we let our social
systems and infrastructure go to hell.

Second question: When we're one of the poor nations that can't service
their our own debt, can we get loans from the World Bank? (Just
kidding ... mostly.)
