ok first of all, you obviously never read the terms and conditions where it clearly states that you enrolled in the program to recieve additional bottles. You were too excited to get your free bottle. This enrollment plan is not geared towards this bodybuilding community, hence the reason we dont advertise it here. Is it our fault you dont read things before you buy them?
Consumer Notice: You will only be enrolled in the Paravol Preferred Customer Program when you agree to the terms and conditions of the Intro Offer. You will not be obligated to stay in the program for any amount of time, and you can cancel at anytime.

You will receive a full bottle of Paravol for FREE and only be charged $5.99 to cover the cost of shipping and handling today. In about 25 days as a Paravol Preferred Customer, we will be sending you another bottle for $29.99, plus $4.99 for shipping and handling. Thats $20.00 off our regular price per bottle! Every month thereafter, you will receive a new shipment of one bottle of Paravol for $29.99, plus $4.99 for shipping and handling.

You may call our customer service toll-free at 1-800-891-6934 to cancel or customize the timing of your preferred customer shipments. Customer service hours are Monday through Friday from 10am-5:30pm EST.

Please note that if you wish to discontinue membership, you MUST cancel prior to the next shipment to avoid being charged. No refunds will be granted for orders once follow up orders have been shipped.

you had to agree to that to order, i will take care of this for you, but I think maybe your etiquitte on the forum may need a lil work, best of luck to you man.....really

i sort of have to agree with Engival on this one

i to recieved a second bottle of paravol without really knowing and was a little upset i was billed, i than went back and re-read the site and saw it was an agreement.

im sure like engival alot of people including myself just lightly look over that section or even just click agree without reading it thinkin there getting just a free bottle.

btw:

the customer is always right.

i know that, thats why in a private message I told him that I would take care of it, yet it still is an issue. When signing a contract, would you just skim over it and sign?...just curious

im self employed and thats ****ing bullsh1t , the customer is not always right . the customer is right hes right when hes not you can always tell them that they arent. As a customer you have to read the fine print on every document you agree to on a website or sign.

I read that when I signed up. Most "freebies" come with a "catch".
I got my free sample, then phoned to cancel - no problem - they never even asked "why".

I also then proceeded to buy some more of their products at their bulk discount price. :) (Saves me money on both the product and shipping).

Can't blame the company - I thought they were very up front with the conditions. And yes - I'm sure they're there because they know a certain % of people will forget to cancel, much like companies rely on a certain % of people to never redeem their mail-in rebates in time and end up paying full price.

I wish more companies would follow this plan - I never would have tried their product without a sample to be honest.

Lesson learned - if it looks too good to be true, check and re-check the conditions.

But Palo Alto Labs sent me sample packs for a couple of products - and I live in Canada (which means most companies don't bother to send it to us).
So they still get 2 thumbs up for me....and something else when I take Asprire36....lol

Yes the customer is always right.. but this is not the appropriate place to post complaints ... we have an entire official company website, email, and 1800 numbers to take care of problems... PAL prides ourselves on customer service...we are extremely easy to contact, and will eagerly assist anyone with questions.. however for proper service... this forum is not the correct place to handle that.
I trust that john took care of everything. If there are any other issues, please PM me after tuesday when i am back in town.
Thanks for your understanding with this

As far as I know, it isnt easy for a company to find your bank account number or credit card number. Anything that involves you giving them those numbers involves a contract. In my opinion it was completely your fault, I liked the way Palo Alto people handled it. Praise to them.

I'm going to have to stop you there. That's awesome you guys are always so helpful, but the customer is not always right. Sometimes the customer is a straight D-bag and needs to be told so....Story...

I was in Publix the other day (the best supermarket ever for those of you who don't have them around you) and some old lady got all pissed off at the cashier for not giving her the, "Five dollar off thing on the diapers." Yes, she kept calling it the "five dollar off thing." The cashier just kind of stared blankly at her. The cashier called over a manager and the lady kept asking what these diapers cost and wanted to know if she recieved the disount for them. The manager said, "Maam, I don't know what they cost." and then the old bag gasped and said, "YOU don't KNOW?!" I was standing right behind her in the checkout and I wanted to say, "You don't know...Do you really expect them to memorize the price of every product in this store?" I really don't get some people.

I know, I will never be able to run a business.

where in florida do you live irish?

and PAL is one of the friendliest, nicest, with active helpful responsive reps (well at least the american ones ;) ) companies here on AM, and in general. The really rank up there with only a few other peers in the industry. I'm not sure i'm in love with that marketing style of the free sample, but it is pretty common. It was a ton of effort to not get signed up for the monthly plan for the Orange Glo prodcuts whenever they have a free sample offer. But I read thru, and follow the directions to not have that happen. Then again, for a $6 bottle of paravol I think i'm going to have to sign up then cancel. Whats that URL john or dave or BJ ? :D

Thumbs up, PAL, for your customer responsiveness. Having said that, the saying that the customer is always right must be given a relative interpretation. The saying is true, only when it can be established that the customer exercised basic rules of caution (before entering a contractual agreement, as in the case here) and did not demonstrate any gross negligence in his conduct. Alternatively, the saying will retain validity, if it can be established that the company's conduct was built on an intention to cheat a customer that exercised normal rules of caution.
Just accepting "the customer is always right" as a behavioral guide is neither acceptable nor justifiable and can create unnecessary complications with negative consequences for the customer. Buyers must beware!
Once again, thumbs up to PAL. My full respect!

I was behind a lady doing something similar in a Tom Thumb here.(I miss Publix) I called her a pain in the azz, as she was holding up a big line, over $2 I think it was, and wrote a check too.
I then apoligized to the cashier, that she was giving a hard time, bought my stuff, and left.

Shame, Shame, Shame

The same thing happened to me a couple months ago.
I got the suprise bottle of Aspire in the mail after my sample. Sure i should have read the fine print, but nevertheless those kinds of business tactics are indicative of the kind of company you are dealing with. Its a sneaky way to trick customers into allowing themselves to be charged retail price for a product they only wished to sample. Plus when I called the company to find out what had happened I got a lot of attitude from the menstural customer service wench in response to my bewilderment.
But I guess what goes around comes around, with their FDA troubles and all. Besides I dont see what everyone raves about when all this product gives you a two day semi, in exchange for a throbbing headache and a stuffed nose. NOT WORTH IT of you can get it up yourself.
Thats my experience with Palo Alto. Buyer beware.

It kinda reminds me of late night porn searching. I sign up for the 3 day trials of hardcore pornsites and then toss off and forget about my subscriptions. A few days later I go to withdraw cash from the ATM and 'BOOM!' I am being charged for the platinum porn club!

It just goes to show you that you must take your eyes off the goods once in a while to read the terms and conditions ;)
