ADA declares Aspartame safe

I've learned to not care what any government agency says.

I still love seeing the arguments against banned stuff... ephedra, ph's, etc... They talk about "risk". I would rather drink some Jim Beam and smoke some Camels so that I can stay "safe".

mostly for coffee. I don't like the taste of stevia, and splenda also is just ok. In soda splenda seems to work well, I like it better than aspartame slightly there.

does anyone else find that the herbal aftertaste of stevia wrecks a good cup of coffee?

Yup.. Honestly, I feel it's probably better for you to just use sugar. You may not be able to stay as lean as you can with a sweetener, but I think you're better off in the long run..

i like stevia... but i just use a drop or two (i have the liquid). the aftertaste is only present if you use a lot of it in my experience.

instead of sugar, try brown sugar or cane sugar... it still has its vitamins and minerals attached (while table sugar is pure extract), so it is less toxic to the body, and slower to metabolize. When you consume table sugar, the body needs to steal vitamins and minerals from other parts of you to metabolize the sugar.

in all reality... a tsp of sugar is about 15 calories... i doubt this is the difference between you being lean or not..

I used to drink lipton diet green tea a lot and eventually I started feeling like I needed to binge on pizzas and sweet crap, or just eat a ton, at least once a week. After actually looking at the ingredients I saw aspartame and it all became clear. I think I really crave carbs and feel dependent on food with aspartame.

I then sucked it up and got some of the pyramid lipton bags of green tea and orange bits and stuff, and then started to actually like hot green tea with no sweetening or anything. I then got mighty leaf organic hojicha green tea and that, hot, without any additives, is my favorite drink besides milk now.
