Sure, traumatic events in people's lives can cause temporary or permanent, erratic behavioral patterns... But IMO, bi-polar disorder has a genetic predisposition and such an uncontrollable and unacceptable mood disorder can NOT be caused by condition or as you say, "people going through changes in life." Changes and growing up can cause people to have emotional ups and downs, sure... but that's life. You can't say, "Jeeze dude, you're actin' all bi-polar!" It's not that simple.
