After I was lazy and PMed Ubi for some info about CKD, which he ignored me like he should have.....

Any way, I have been looking at pro's/con's of CKD over the past week and Im really looking to switch over to it almost full time at the begging of the new year. I would only take a week off of it at a time at most, and will only be for vacations and what not.

Is there any reason I shouldn't, can you really "add mass/bulk" on the CKD? The other thing im haveing a hard time with is, how will my body adapt back to normal eating habbits in 10 or 15 years?

So everyone knows im 5'9" 185~187ish now @ about 10~13%.As of Jan 1, I plan on beeing close to 190 @10%BF with a little help from Superdrol and IGF-1 ;)

I'd like to maintiane at around 180lbs and bee in the single digits BF wise

I thinking of switching pretty soon myself...

Is there a good link explaining the CKD diet? How does it differ from the Anabolic Diet I've read about in other threads? Are they both keto?

Im deciding which one to do... sorry to threadjack but my only goal is to get to certain weight and constantly recomp all year like you OP

BUMP. we need answers!

I would make sure your having enough fat especially if your feeling lethargic, or look into Intermittent Fasting.

ok here it is, you eat 60% of your cals from fat+35% of your cals from protein and 5% from carbs.

here is what my diet looks like diet:
meal 1: two whole eggs, 1 egg white, 1/4 cup cheddar, 4 strips bacon(fish oil)
meal 2: 3 ozs sliced ham, some cheddar cheese w/ mustard
meal 3: 1 tablespoon natty pb(fish oil)
meal 4: 8oz sliced turkey w/ 2 oz sliced ham w/ a few slices cheddar w/ a few slics baby swiss
meal 5: five and a fourth tablespoons flax seed oil(fish oil)
(amouts a little of oz is an estimate)probably 2 much
fitday:2183cals, 154g fat, 17g carb.,185g protein
%s=63%fat+3%carb.+35%protein

a smart thing to do would be to buy "ketostix" which are urine analysis (pee on strip tell you if ur in KETOSIS or not) once you are in KETOSIS you can lower fat cals down. to around 55%
DONT WORRY ON THIS DIET FOR THE FIRST COUPLE DAYS IT WILL BE VERY HARD TO FIND ENERGY U HAD WITH MODERATE CARBS. DURING WORKOUT DONT GIVE UP!

ON THIS DIET YOU WILL LOSE BODYFAT AND GAIN lbm

Just my $.02 but I wouldn't try bulking without daily carbs.

I thought the same thing, but after reading more and more on it, it looks like it is possible. It's just not as quick as if eating alot of carbs.

Maybe I could for see 2lbs added in a month while in a surplus of cals. That 2lbs was muscle without gaining any fat vs. with carbs is may be 6lbs total...maybe 3lbs muscle/2lbs water and 1lb fat??? See what im getting at?

I have become really interested in maybe trying this come Oct. 1st @ a maintenence phase, with added cardio 3times a week. Do it for all of Oct. and then when Nov hits jump on Superdrol for 3 weeks while doing CKD in a surplus and stay in a CKD surplus until after P.C.T. and see where im at. To be honest while in school @ 16credit hours it'll be alot easier doing a CKD diet over a regular bulking diet anyways.

I'm an idiot, i relized this in the car ride home from work yesterday. There's NO WAAAAAAAAY i could go CKD on superdrol + IGF-1 then into and thru P.C.T. I'll die of hypoglycemia.

See this is why I plan things several months in advance, to work out my stupidity. :ntome:

Did CKD for a very long time... I have never responded very well to carbs. After any carb meal I'll go into a food coma and feel lazy for the rest of the day. Some notes about CKD and low-carb dieting in general from someone who's been doing it for a lifetime...

1. You can DEFINITELY do a very lean bulk without carbs. ****... I was gaining mass on the south beach diet as a newbie 4 years ago. I've never noticed the ability to lift more with higher carb diets. All depends on the person.

2. If you have insulin sensitivity issues like me, you will feel more energetic on CKD, less bloated, and more healthy overall.

3. CKD foods are fun

4. Be ready to feel depleted as f*ck before the carbups. Also low carb dieting (on a diet at the extreme of CKD) for a long period of time often gives one an insatiable need for carbs. I could polish off two large pizzas on CKD during a carbup (and amazingly, still lose 1-2 lbs that week) You will notice that your body does in fact begin to change the way it metabolizes energy.

5. Worst part... make sure to taper back carbs into your lifestyle, or you're going to feel like someone who's just been in a contest. Rebounding 20-30 lbs after 1-2 weeks would not be atypical.

Check out c-k-d.com (if it's still up...). Great community of CKDers.

Im giving this a shot for comparison, this is my 2nd day of no carbs, so far so good I thought I would start having concentration problems by now but not the case. Ronald McDonald is helping me out, so is metamucil.

Thanks homeboy. I tried it but didnt get anything, some asian writting crap. I search "anabolic diet" on here and got alot more turn up because its more than 3 letters. I'm thinking about useing Glycer Grow to make me "feel" less depleted and get more water down.

Last sun I did no carbs all day and by 8pm im pretty sure I was in Ketosis. My breathe had that odd smell and I was foggy upstairs. This is good to know my body can switch so fast.

I did somthing like this before spring break my senior year of HS and i experienced all the carb free sides and thats how i felt the other nite. Also I felt the rebound. I gain like 18-20lbs on spring break, but also gained a few notches on the belt :toofunny:

yeah all glucose disposal agents are fair game and should supposedly help you get into ketosis quicker later on (so the theory goes... more carbs are shuttled into muscular glycogen than liver glycogen, etc). R-ala (or just 2x dose ALA), vanadyl sulfate, and I really like Anabolic Pump for this purpose.

too bad c-k-d.com is no longer available. there was a wealth mine of 5+ years of keto diet posting there. unfortunately it seems low carb communities are dying out... but personally, I always go back to low carbing because I just don't seem to tolerate carbs very well.
