That's kind of a broad question.

Actually, let me rephrase that, that's a real broad question.

Ditto.

Are you talking sugar as in specifically table sugar (sucrose) or all simple carbohydrates from those in fruit to those in junk food? The quantity will also depend on your stats and whether you are bulking, cutting, or maintaining.

Without specifics, the best that can be said is 'moderate' or 'balanced'.

try and only have "natural sugars" (think fruit) ...pre workout, or early in the day ideally (is what I follow)

and avoid artificial sugars...

Cell-Tech is the only thing I could think of. Maybe they've reformulated it since I last took it (6 or 7 years ago) but it used to have 75 grams of sugar serving.

I dunno how they are allowed to sell stuff like that. I was taking one that had 60g of dextrose per serving and had I kept taking it I would probably be on my way to diabetes. It sent my insulin levels on a rollercoaster ride.

The only sugars that should be consumed should be from either fruits, vegetables, and maybe honey.

Agreed. Your body doesn't need as much sugar as America seems to think.

(...if i hear one more damn student of dietician tell me that i have to be eating grains for energy...)

GNC Weightgainer formulas used to have 60g of sucrose per 4 heaping (massive) scoopfulls (this is about 8-9 years ago). I used to resort to that stuff at my friends house in HS after work outs as he was a hard gainer, course I'm an easy gainer so it was like eating 4 pizza's in one sitting for me. I was just too lazy to lug whey to his house. After about 3 weeks of that stuff I refused to use it and started making tuna fish sandwiches after workouts at his house.

I think this stuff could comatose a diabetic in 5 minutes flat. Notice the warning on the label!

Oh look, they've made it worse (GNC Pro Performance Weight Gainer 2200):
