Is there such a thing as too much FIBER?

I bought some oatmeal which contains around 6g fiber per bag, and I eat 3-4 a day. Combined with other fibrous foods, such as kidney beans, I could be taking in around 2-3x the "daily values". I know those values are for the most part for sedentary average joe's, and I don't follow them, but this caught my eye.

Is there such a things as too much fiber?

WHOA WHOA WHOA!
Beans are so amazing... I love baked beans so much, that they are probably my favorite carb source at the moment. Gotta watch out for the sauce, sodium/sugar/extra cals, but man is it worth it! Bush baked beans... I just ate and now I feel like opening up a can.
I even eat kidney beans with mustard... fibrous fibers to the face! Beans be good mahhhn, beans be good.

^^ I always put about 90% of the beans in a drainer, wash it out then boil them real good in water and let it simmer, then redrain them and add the little bit of sauce/beans left over and simmer them a little more..V'oila! Less sodium/junk!

I prefer beans over ANY type of grains or rice, mostly because my system can't tolorate ANY type of grains at all.Even metamucil makes me feel stuffy and congested.I even prefer beans over potatos, being that they are pretty starchy and less fiber then beans overall.

Definitly
Draining the beans is surely ideal. Good method in dropping all that excess sodium and whatnot too. Unfortunately (not sure why I'm using that word), I can't do that. Bush baked beans just are too good!

oh man. U have gotta try putting a some black beans in the crockpot for like 6-8hrs. Take a bag of black beans ($1.25maybe)...soak overnight. Then throw them in a crockpot with a few cans of chicken broth, diced jalapenos, black pepper, cayenne, spices, etc. Let it cook on low for 8hrs. Oh my with some fat free sour cream. wow

Just make sure you drink a lot of water when consuming high amounts of fiber. It's no fun tryin to squeeze out a brick

Fun experiment for y'all...

Take 2-3 heaping tablespoons of ORIGINAL TEXTURE psyllium husks at night before going to bed. First thing in the morning, pop 25mg Ephedrine HCl.

The ephedrine will cause contractions of the smooth muscle of the large intestine, squeezing out all that fiber along with some other nasty looking stuff.

You will feel great.

I lost at least an inch off of my waist circumference in 2 minutes.
