Ok it's not that bad tasting to me but I've never been a big fan. I'm trying to add more diversity to a very strict diet and I'm looking for a few recommendations. What is the best meal for cottage cheese concidering my workouts start after work around 5:30? Also do you guys eat it plain, add fruit, etc?

I throw in 2 whopping tablespoons of natty peanut butter into my 6-serving tub of cottage cheese and mix in 4 truvia packets. It tastes pretty amazing. I also add cinnamon when available/when I'm home.

This is what I was looking for thanks! What meal do you normally add this to?

No problem. Ill add blackberries, raspberries, almonds, sunflower seeds, or peak protein granola sometimes too. Im a big fan of crunchiness so thats what i shoot for.

add peanut buttet & honey nut cheerios or other mildly sweet cereal of your choice. very filling, nutritious for the most part. great source of cals. actually taste pretty good too. probably could also throw in some fruit if youd like.

Id do PB & Cott cheese before bed, maybe a little of the cereal. Higher carbs probably earlier in the day for a snack. Depends on how it fits your scheme

Thanks for all the replies. Plain is hard to get down. I went with someone's suggestion of sliced almonds, sugar free maple syrup, frozen blue berries, and now I crave it. Taste amazing this way.

I'm not going to knock it till I try it but on paper it looks nasty
It's more about the way you think about it. Most people think of cottage cheese as sweet-tasting, but if you think of it as an egg white (flavor-wise) you can do a lot more with it.

It's even better if you combine it with cold salmon cuts.

Hey I will give it a go and see how I like it. Thanks

If you hate it, try scaling back the seasonings and using only black pepper + chives or something.

Basically, if you would add it to egg whites you could add it to cottage cheese.

im wondering if youre confusing this with cream cheese.

i have no clue how folks could think cottage cheese is sweet. pretty salty to me.

plus, all of those things u mentioned are often paired with cream cheese

Look in the frozen section for Strawberries. I buy the one with no sugar added and put a spoon full in with my cottage cheese. Turns it into a dessert.

pancakes with it, shakes with it. If you use enough flavoring there are a lot of ways you can go with it. My favorite has been makeing pancakes with it.

1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup muscle egg
1 scoop iForce Vanilla Protean
1 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt

Thats pretty much how I make mine.

Helps if you have a good blender. I have a Vitamix and also a Bullet if its just for me. Essentially I do it till its smooth and all the clumps from the cottage cheese are gone.

Lately I've been doing either;

250 g cottage cheese, splash of milk, 1 scoop protein powder and 1-2 scoops of instant chocolate mousse mix, blend and put in the fridge to set. I top it with some blueberries and eat as a dessert... nomnomnom.

OR...

Cottage cheese, cinnamon, raw honey and diced apple which is also delicious.

The Mrs has been enjoying it with some cucumber, lemon zest and cracked black pepper on her organic rice crackers as a snack through the day.

So many things you can do with it, it's quite amazing the variety of snacks/meals you could put together with this one ingredient. Don't be afraid to experiment! :D

Sugar-free pudding mix is pretty good with some walnuts and stuck in freezer for an hour.
I noticed the brand you get has a lot to do with it also.

All I've been doing lately is a tub of cottage cheese, one scoop of instant choc mousse mix and one scoop of SELECT Milk Chocolate protein powder.

Throw them in the blender until smooth and put in the fridge to set.

Eat it as a dessert ;)

What % fat cottage cheese do you eat? Or do you eat the fat free?

May sound dumb but I only will eat 4% and certain brands and I LOVE it plain.
Others taste weird and I just can't do it without creating some weird science experiment of mixing a bunch of stuff in to be able to choke it down. Haha

Try different brands, there IS a huge difference in taste sometimes.
I think you might thank me.

I wonder why so far nobody mentioned throwing in some coconut milk. I could eat that all day long. If it wasn't for its high insulinemic response, I'd eat it pre-, intra- and post-workout lol

200g Cottage Cheese (4% fat)
100g Coconut Oil
1 teaspoon sweetener

RESULT
28g Protein and 28g healthy MCT fats = WIN

rooster sauce! Spiracha . I eat a ton of cottage cheese as part of my regular protein diet. I put it in protein shakes as well. You can add anything to it. I use it in tuna rather than mayo. Cut half an avocado into it with some garlic powder and a little rooster sauce ....

Yeah buddy! Don't knock it till you've tried it. It is a good replacement for mayo in a standard tuna mix. On top of that it insures nobody else in the house will touch it .... all mine LOL My kids look at me like I am sick in the head no matter how I eat my cottage cheese but this one always gets them out of the kitchen.

Not knocking it. Interested, actually. I'll definitely give it a go. I'm tired of using pickle juice as a substitute.
