It's in my protein powder. Six Star walmart brand.
YeahI have noticed. The thing is six star is cheap and I am making gains Farly well. Thankfully I am a mesomorph, atleast I have come to believe I am. I can eat very poorly, but as long as I get food and protein I grow, even with only two meals, say with rice for breakfast and about two burgers at dinner and still have a good workout. I am on a fixed income, so I need powder that is affordable. If you have any links fr bulk plain powder, or chocolate flavored, that is at a good price and shipping isn't something like $12.36 or something like that, please send me a link. I have found plenty websites that have cheaper powder than the six star, but after the shipping the price goes up a lot.You probably wont get too many responses throwing that brand name around. It isn't very reputable in many communities. As far as the Acesulfame is concerned, it's a non caloric artificial sweetener found in many different protein powders on the market. In other words, it's a chemical. It hasn't been proven that it's bad for you necessarily, but it really depends on your outlook. You could always opt for an "All Natural" brand of protein powder. There are quite a few out there that taste great. This way you don't need to worry about whether the ingredients are "good" or "bad."
Here's a good article to check out.

I take one shake post workout 4 times a week. I usually don't have a shake on a non-lifting day, unless I'm in a hurry and need to eat something fast. Luckily it doesn't take much for me to make gains, as long as I eat when I'm hungry, although I am always hungry lol. This is true synthetic compounds are bad for you but in this world we live in it is very hard to avoid them all together, especially being a fitness enthusiasts. Most all shakes have an artificial sweetener, just watch your intake.
