Best turkey chili youll ever eat!

  1. Best turkey chili youll ever eat!

This recipe Is half my own and half from one I learned years ago. It's healthy and addictive and hard to limit to one bowl. I love it and make it alot so I thought I'd share.

    You'll need:
    3lbs lean ground turkey
2 green peppers seeded a chopped
    1 onion chopped
    5 cloves of garlic chopped
    1 habanero pepper chopped fine
2 cans kidney beans (I do dark/light red for color)
2 cans no salt added diced tomatoes
1 8 oz can no salt added tomato sauce
1 small can diced green chiles
    2 tblsp chili powder
    1 tblsp paprika
    1 tblsp ground cummin
    1 1/2 teaspoon season salt
    1 teaspoon black pepper
    2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
    2 teaspoon dried oregano
    1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 Hershey's special dark regular size chocolate bar
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    1/2 can cheap beer

Sauté green pepper, onion, garlic and habenero till onions become translucent.
In seperate pan brown turkey then combine everything in large pot along with all other ingredients. Mix very well and cook on medium - med/low heat (depending on oven top) for 1- 1 1/2 hours stirring every 10 minutes or less if you can. Just be careful not to burn the bottom cus it'll fudge up the flavor big time. If you do this all correct i promise you'll love it or you can neg me and have me booted off here.

  2. Can a mod please move this to recipes? I thought I was posting this there. Damn iPhone

Let me know how it turns out. Enjoy!

  5. Yes I'm bumping my own old thread but that's because I just made this recipe with all organic vegetables i.e. dried kidney beans instead of canned , Roma tomatoes instead of canned and roasted my own chiles to add. It's awesome, friends told me its best chilly they've had and doesn't f up your stomach. Can't call it %100 organic because I still used a tall boy of labatt blue and a chocolate bar that weren't organic as well as the spices but its damn close and very health conscious. Try this out!

  6. Will this work in a crockpot?

  7. Never tried it. What I do is saute they garlic, all the peppers and onions till the become slightly translucent while in a pot brown the turkey . It takes about 5 minutes for both. Then I dump it all along with the rest of the ingredients into a pot and being it to a bubble hot then simmer for an hour. It's real simple and worth it

  8. You'll spend mat your time about 15 minutes chopping vegetables and 5-10 cooking. The rest the time is simmer with occasional stir. You can move faster if you use the original canned veg recipe. But once your done you got lunch for two for a week. I'd recommend doing the first time with the canned stuff to get the flavor profile down cus it comes out tasting perfect that way then convert to all fresh once you got it.

  9. This seems delicious
