psyllium husk question ( metamucil/equate type)

I couldn't find an answer on google soooooo here goes.

I understand that fiber slows the absorption of food.


BUT

psyllium husk ( ground) is advertised as a laxative. I believe it makes you poop faster.


SO, if i take psyllium husk with a meal, will it slow the absorption or make it come out quicker?


Excuse my ignorance but this concept is crucial to my intermittent fasting efforts.

It will do both. It will slow down the absorption of the meal you are eating while helping to clear out undigested foods from your system.
