Caloric Differences in Calorie Cycling

Pretty new to the forum and didn't see anything on "search".

For any of you guys experienced with calorie/carb cycling, what kind of caloric difference do you use between your days? Do you eat at say 500-700 below maint. on your low days and at maint. during other days? Or perhaps lower on under days and over maint. on your higher days?

Just curious what is working for those who have tried it with success.

There's no real rule to it, and partially depends on you caloric need. If your maintenance is 2300 the swing will be lower than if maintenance is 3300. Generally being above maintenance after workouts and below on cardio or off days works well.

Like Eric said, "There is no real rule to it", and it is going to differ between individuals as to what they do and what works best. Generally you have lower or at and higher than Maintenance calorie days, though. All depends on your goal as well.

Some do 2-4 days lower than Maintenance and then 1-2 days higher than Maintenance. I have done every other day higher or lower than Maintenance, 1-2 days a week higher or lower, every third or fourth day higher or lower.

In the end, experiment with different approaches and see what works best for you re progress towards your goals and needs.

Thanks for the input! Always good to see what works well for others.

Currently I am doing 2 days around 500 under and then a day above then repeat. Working well so far but have not been experimenting with it long.

No worries :)

Stick at it for a couple of weeks each way that you try - that is definitely long enough to see if you need to tweak or change things up. or if it works, keep at it for a bit longer before trying another way.
