Insulin and Glucagon
Glucagon raises low blood sugar.
Glucagon puts the metabolism in burning mode.
Glucagon converts protein and fat to glucose.
Glucagon causes dietary fat to be used for energy.
Glucagon releases fat from fat cells to be used for energy.
Glucagon reduces cholesterol production.
Glucagon causes the kidneys to release water from the body.
Glucagon causes artery wall cells to return to normal.
Glucagon stimulates the use of fat for energy.

Everyone on this board should have a basic understanding of glucagon and insulin. Its necessary for understanding how the body uses fuel in fed and fasted states.

Oversimplified understanding of these hormones (mainly insulin) has led to erroneous dietary concepts. Additionally, since people have no practical way to measure the levels of these hormones, any discussion must be almost exclusively qualitative.
IMO people would be better off learning the fundamentals of energy concepts and energy conservation laws. These CAN be applied quantitatively by using nutritional content of foods and energy expenditures for BMR and activity level. After all insulin and glucagon are basically energy management hormones.

Dang, can anyone tell me how this applys to me? I am a type 1 diabetic! Meaning, I make NO insulin, I have to inject.
Can these be used to my advantage? Or is it going to make it hard for me to get the body I want?

Type 2 diabetics that are not injecting insulin are the ones that have a limited capacity to make muscle/weight gains.
Type 1 diabetics do not have this limitation because they can take as much insulin as needed to metabolize whatever calories are needed to fuel growth.
Unless you start taking steroids and building yourself to supernatural levels then you will be on equal footing with a non-diabetic as long as you manage your glucose levels.

Your response to the insulin you inject would also depend on your sensitivity to Insulin. Is it possible that if you up the dosage of insulin you take then youll have a greater anabolic response, particularly post workout.

The post workout window can basically accommodate additional calories in the quantity of what was burned during the workout. Quantities much greater than this, again, will likely lead to fat gain.
