Diet based on your blood type?

Zero V

Well-known member
So a buddy at work told me about this, and explained it to me some. Weird because it is working for him.

Essentially some are saying that based on your blood type you should have a specific kind of diet for your body to work at its best. O type being the oldest and more meat oriented, with A,B, AB being vegetarian all the way to mixed.

It is an interesting concept. He is A type and avoids anything from the nightshade family of veggies(peppers n such) and he said it has improved his body alot.

Interesting concepts, I dont really look too much into it, but it is interesting. Blood types do contribute to some of our major physiological differences and how we react to things.

I've read the book Eat right for your blood type...

there's also a book V that you might be interested in. What Would Jesus Eat? I believe its on google books so you don't even have to buy it.

Screw that. I'm A-. According to that I should be a vegetarian. The thing that makes me call BS on this is the fact that my mother is A- as well...and she's extremely allergic to all forms of soy, yet it's recommended for her to be on a soy based diet. I'll stick to a well balanced diet.

I'm just an absolute skeptic when it comes to stuff like this. To get conclusive scientific evidence of the validity of the theory is just not a feasible. Too many variables to contend with so its just far fetched as far as I am concerned.

I think I will look into that, I heard of people using a diet based off of what was available at that time and they seem to feel amazing, refreshed, and are healthier.

I can kinda agree, its just an interesting idea. No doubt that blood type contributes in some form to how we function and deal with outside chemicals and even our diet, but to what extent is the question.

I wont follow it myself do to it telling me no bacon, no cottage cheese, and no green beans. NEVER!!!!!:AR15firing: I love my green beans.

I agree with this one. The best thing to do is to have a balanced diet instead of just concentrating on one food group because that is, in some way, unhealthy as well. To work properly, our bodies need to have enough supply from every food group and that's about it. Interesting article, though. :)

sweet type - O.... pretty much what i eat anyway, except i dont really limit my grains...

wow gotta suck to be a type - A ...haha

kind of unrelated/related...

I'm fairly convinced mosquitoes or attracted to certain blood types...why do some people gettin eaten alive and others never get bit at all?

I get raped by mosquitoes in the summer

"Mosquitoes are attracted to perspiration, heat, carbon dioxide, and lactic acid."

Color and smell also factors in.

Being that dieting is way easier than many people make it out to be and that people often make it way more complicated than it should be, I can totally see how someone would come up with the blood type dieting system. I'm not saying it's a 100% total farce, but c'mon...

I'm sure there have been books written about dieting and blood types, right? What does that mean? Money!!!

If anyone's interested in starting up a fad diet and banking off of it, send me a PM. ;)
