Powders and foods absorb? (whey)

Well solid foods will obviously slow down digestion when compared to a straight protein shake. Fats obviously do. Supplements like creatine or BA shouldn't have much of an effect.

So, I work out mornings, after taking in Post whey shake would it be better to hold off on eating? So the protien can go straight to the small intestine faster?
IF so how long should I wait? 20 mins?
