thermogenic effect of liquid nutrients

i have heard forever, 1 main reason for not taking in nutrients by shakes is that you lose out on the thermogenic effect of food ( 35-40% protein, 25% or so carb, but only a few % with fat ). that being said, the reason protein is consumed in liquid post workout is BECAUSE your body doesnt have to break it down, and so it absorbs the quickest.

all of that being said, wouldn't it make sense that all macro nutrients' thermo effect and time of digestion go completely out the window when taken in liquid form?

this brings me to another point, shouldnt solid and liquid fat have vast differences in digestion rate? drinking oil , vs eating peanut butter or avocados?

thoughts and opinions?
