are raisins a healthy carb source?
~65 GI, mostly sugar, alkaline forming.

yeah fairly quickly digestion, I like to add some raisins to my oatmeal in the morning but I wouldn't recommend them as a snack if your watching your carbs or carb timing.
Also I remeber hearing they help counter an acidic diet, don't really know why or how just throwing it out there.
Not a good idea if you are limiting sugar, which everyone should be doing anyway.
