Getting ready to go to college in January. Took a couple years off after high school and was hoping I could get some input from people who were still able to bodybuild in college. Any advice is greatly appreciated
I have to agree with this sentiment. College is all about "branching out" and "experimenting" which is just a bullsh*t excuse for doing stupid sh*t. Be true to you, you know why you're there.Well the peer pressure can make it hard, but it's definitely doable.
Couldn't have said it better.I have to agree with this sentiment. College is all about "branching out" and "experimenting" which is just a bullsh*t excuse for doing stupid sh*t. Be true to you, you know why you're there.
If you want to maintain a strict diet, you can do it. If you want to train 4 or 5 days a week, you can do it. Seeing as you took a few years off after high school, you're probably more mature and "grown up" than the average first year college student.
If you're living in a dorm, your best bet is probably a high complex carb diet. My reasoning is that oats, wheat bread, etc. can be stored at room temperature. Not to mention the fact that oats are dirt cheap if the whole "poor college student" mantra applies. Some nattyPB (also room temp) sandwiches can help you survive long blocks of classes.
They are as available as your local grocer. How avalible are lean meats and good whole wheat carbs like pasta and sweet potatoes?
It all depends on your university obviously. Some cafs are buffet style, some are pay for what you eat (Poor!).How avalible are lean meats and good whole wheat carbs like pasta and sweet potatoes?
I agree, with the right amount of discipline you won't view it as even remotely hard, but just as your way of life. No, it isn't hard. If you can't do it you simply lack discipline.
Ya, that's always good advice. I always love my Friday-PWO cheat meals! Also, if you know you are going to "cheat", try to make it your PWO meal. That's the primary time I hit up the dorm buffets. Stuff our face.
very well said.. excellent.I agree, with the right amount of discipline you won't view it as even remotely hard, but just as your way of life.
I go to a military college, its not buffet style we just sit down and take what they give us. Theres plenty of milk and fruit though. they also have like eggs, cottage cheese or tuna but that runs out quick.joelast where u in college at. And why is it hard to get your meals square
