| Registered User | Yohimbine Caps vs. Yohimbine HCL Powder I searched but really couldn't find the dosage or a great understanding of the differences between the two. Can someone who knows shed a bit of light on this? Wondering what would be a good daily dosage if I was to get the Yohimbine Caps and the dosage for the Yohimbine HCL Powder? Is there a difference between the two, one better than the other (as far as price/effectiveness ratio)? caps are more convenient, but I really don't take that into play as i take a million and one powders as it is Thanks |

| Quality Assurance Board Administrator | They are the same active ingredient of Y-hcl. One is capped with filler at 2.5mg/cap and the other is raw powder. The caps are not only convenient but safer. Unless you have a scale and are good with making oral solution I advise that you refrain from using the powder. Effective dosing is as follows: .1mg/lb of bw. This equates to 20mg for a 200lb individual. Keep in mind that Y can have some adverse effects such as heart palpitations, anxiety and in extreme cases (overdose) hallucinations and or psychotic episodes. It is advised to be cautious when using this. I recommend 2.5mg caps 2-3 x per day to assess tolerance and then increase form there if needed. It is also best used on and empty stomach or a carb free meal as insulin blunts the lypolitic effects of Y. |

| NutraPlanet Fanatic Board Sponsor | Brian knows what he is talking about here. I would overwhelmingly recommend tha capsules, as a YHCl overdose is EXTREMELY unpleasant. there are 100 caps in the bottle at 2.5 mg's giving you a total of 250mg at 8 bucks. 1 gram (1000 mg) of the powder is listed as $2.50. Would it take 4 bottles of caps to equal the same potency of the powder? i can see where trying to get a daily dosage from the powder would be tough seeing that 1/4 tsp = 410 mg. | |

Final question before I mull this over. can you make an oral solution using water? And will the below ratio be good for weeks? 1/4 tsp = 410 mg 410 mg mixed in 41 or 82 ounces of water and refridgerate, leaving 1 ouce shots at 10 mg or 5 mg servings. | |

| Quality Assurance Board Administrator | You can make an oral solution except YOUR 1/4tsp is not calibrated and could easily be 25-50% off resulting in a serious risk of overdose. DO NOT make a solution without at the very least a .01 scale or better. JMHO EDIT: Unless of course you order 1g and drop it into 100ml of water. This assumes that NP is accurate in their dispensing of product...which is not in question. |
