It's not about how much you take but how high your blood concetrations are after you've taken it. With that being said, taking it on an empty stomach will be tons more effective.
Oddly enough, tryptophan seems to keep me awake at night. I've dosed from 500mg to 1.5Gm. Just get that real "light" spaced-out sleep. Not the deep good sleep I was hoping for.

I took 500 mg's last night on an empty stomach, waited 15 mins, ate, then went to bed. My sleep was more solid than usual and when I got up for a bathroom run it was much easier to fall asleep. I'll prob try a gram tonight...
