order problem

I had an order sent to my friends house. The tracking number said they delivered on the 4th, but he did not recieve any package or a notice in the mailbox. He told me he'll check the main office of his apartment building tomorrow. If it's not there, then what do I do. It was kinda a big order for me $156. Am I just screwed? Never happened to me before.
