Poseidon for a cancer patient?

Aaron,

My next door neighbor has been fighting cancer for about 10 years. Right now he is cancer free but he is sick, real sick. I spoke to his wife this morning and she said that she is so tired of the Doctors giving him so much medicine. I said over a year ago that he was over medicated, and now they are starting to agree. This past week he has been in the hospital for an ulcer and a hernia. He hasn't hardly eaten anything in several weeks. He is so small and weak from not eating and dehyration its mind blowing. She said that the doctors have him on blood pressure medicine and cholestorol drugs right now. She told yesterday his BP was 78/52 yesterday morning and that was not giving him any more of there garbage. I told her that he needed to get some strong food in his body in small amounts. I told her that she needed to start getting raw cows milk and raw cows butter in him a swallow at a time. I took her my new bottle of cod liver oil and some liver tablets. He needs nutrition, and dense nutrition or he is not going to make it. I told her to give him little doses of it 3x per day and to give him 1 liver tablet per hour.

His appetite is near nothing. I was thinking that I would give him a container of my Poseidon and the B-vits may give him some energy and boost his appetite. But, there was one concern. He is taking Cumodon(spelling?) for a blood clot in his lower leg. I worried that the Poseidon might would be too much and may not work with this stuff very well. I know Poseidon is all natural, its not the problem, its the other garbage that worried me. What would you say on this? He also needs a high power multi-vitamin and mineral, but one step at a time.

Hoepfully he will take the cod liver oil and liver tablets along with the raw milk and butter. She also has fresh eggs and I told her to mix 1 up raw with his milk and make him drink it. He has gotta get this stuff in him.

His name is Hershel Asher. Keep him your prayers.

He will defenitly be in my prayers fab.

As for the use of Poseidon, first is the fact that he's "not" taking in adequate fluids which leads to his dehydration. A product that increases fluid hydration, must need fluids to be effective, so as you said baby steps are needed to get him stabilized and well hydrated before any use could come of it. For the medication, as with any over the counter supps you have to practice caution when trying to utilize them. Cumiden is a vitamin K blocker which blocks it's formation to thrombin and fibrinogen. There are several apoenzymes used in this pathway for that specific conversion to take place including several bvitamin cofactors(which Poseidon contains).

I am hesitant to say that using Poseidon right now would be of any benefit to him, given his present state. After stabilization and reduction of his medication(and thus reduction of interference), it could be a good tool to getting his condition optimized.

FabOne, Your friend Hershel Asher will definitely be in my prays. I've seen 4 relatives and friends die from Cancer and know how hard it can be for the victim and their friends and family.

I would not recommend Poseidon for Hershel at this time...at least not without his doctors approval. As Dustin said, once he reduces the amount of drugs he's taking, then Poseidon may be a perfect fit.

Please keep me updated on his condition. Your a good friend and he's blessed to have your support.

Thanks guys. He means alot to me and my family. My little girl absolutely loves him and he loves her. He is actually a distant relative of mine, along with being my neighbor. His grandmother and my great-great grandmother were sisters. Anyway he is cancer free at the moment but the effects of chemo and all the other treatments have taken a toll on him that I just don't think I would go through looking from the outside in. The treatments caused lesions to come up in his throat and narrowed the esophogus and that was the first ordeal he had with not being able to eat(a few weeks ago), now he has eat very little and they tell him he has an ulcer and hernia.

You guys are right, one can't suggest alot or do much, but I swear, sometimes I think most Doctors are just complete goofs. Like having a man whose BP is in the 75/55 range on blood pressure medicine and cholesterol lower drugs. Some cholesterol would do him absoluetly wonderful. I just wish there was something I could do or suggest. Its terribly sad and really open your eyes to how frail and special we are made. Its amazing at how much we can endure and how little it takes to take our lives.

If Hershel can get medical supervision/testing they would be able to identify electrolytes which are low within his blood. They usually give supplements which can fix usual imbalances. When I was in hospital they noted my potassium was low on a number of days, those days they gave me slow and fast release potassium.

Poseidon is great for many people as it contains a variety of minerals/electrolytes, and other goodies. Our body takes when it needs and we notice we feel better after taking it. We usually have reasonable functioning kidneys to excrete the stuff we don't need as much of, and reabsorb the things we don't have enough of. Of course we need daily top ups. In contrast to Hershel, he is old, and that inherently makes him more likely to have reduced filtration capacity in his kidneys. Not only that, the drugs he is on in the past may have worsened his kidney function, and further to that current drugs may tax his present kidney function.

Medical advice as suggested by the Nimbus reps is on the money. Maybe find a general doc to check his blood levels and pinpoint his needs.

Who knows some day when he recovers to a stable level poseidon may be just the ticket to vigour into his remaining years.

Best wishes for Hershel and those that care for him.

Sorry guys! I had forgot all about this thread. Yes, he is actually recovering some now. He went so long without eating that they had to put a feeding tube into his stomach just to get his body to start accepting food. He told me that the Doctors said that he had went so long without food that some chemical mechanism from his gut to his brain signalling hunger had turned off. This was all caused by lesions in his neck from chemo and an ulcer and hernia in his stomach.

Its has had one really hard time. He is so over medicated that it rediculous. His doctors had him own statins and BP medicine and he hadn't eat more than a few bites in 3 months. His wife took him off them she was so angry when she checked his BP and pulse and she couldn't even find a pulse it was so weak. His body probably needed some cholesterol!

Thanks guys for checking up on him.

Thanks for the update Fab. Here's hoping for a smooth and fast recovery.

Has he managed to start a oral puree diet yet? Or gain back any weight?
