Thumbs up Poseidon in the Desert

UNSPONSORED..sorry forgot to add that in the title.

As some of you know, I did some survey work down in the desert near the Mexican border about a month ago.

During the few days I was there, temperatures were 100-105 degrees and the humidity was absolutely awful thanks to Hurricane Whatitsnuts blowing in. 80-100% humidity mostly without cloud cover overhead..just clouds and rain on the small mountains nearby taunting me.

Due to the extreme terrain and spiny, spikey and clawing vegetation that the Sonoran Desert is famous for, I couldn't wear shorts without becoming scratched and bloody...and having my sweat make all that sting like the dickens. So I had to wear my trusty BDU pants.

Did I mention it was hot?

In any case, this was my first real field test for Poseidon outside of the gym. I had thought the formula to be an excellent electrolyte replacer for high heat situations and the guys at Nimbus Nutrition did not let me down.

Walking transect lines in the blazing sun while looking for endangered cacti is kinda like hiking a predetermined route and stopping every 100 feet to flag your location. It's tedious..especially when the terrain is rocky as heck and the temps are soaring. Normally, I start to get weak by midday in these conditions even if I've drank a gallon or more.

Hydration is seldom a problem as I carry a gallon sized hydration pack..but burning up all my electrolytes is. Poseidon kept me pretty dang chipper for the entire day. Hiking up and down steep hills was a breeze even late in the day.

Still had fuel in the tank in the evening. Slept well and woke up ready for round 2 of surveying when the norm is to be feeling kinda worn.

So..two t humbs up for Poseidon use in extreme temperatures. Nimbus should really start marketing Poseidon for this use and even pestering the DOD to start supplying to our troops in Iraq/Afgahnistan.

I will be backpacking the Grand Canyon in November and will evaluate Poseidon's effects on extreme endurance performance then.

I AM watching you.

Holy cow Now that's a job you have to truly love in order to do. Great feedback as always bio, and thanks for sharing the story... or should I say adventure.

P.S. Everytime you talk about your scouting expeditions I always get an urge to watch Discovery Channel. Guess I'm subconciously looking for THE bioman.

WOW! That is one great testimony...Thanks for posting your feedback Bioman. We would love to market to the DOD but need to get some documented clinical studies done on Poseidon before they will even look at us...unless you have an in...

Looking forward to your backpacking trip around the Grand Canyon my friend!

Actually, having a show on DC called "BioMan" has a pretty good ring to it doesn't it.

Now I just have to work on some sort of super power and, errr, talent.

I seriously wonder how we could get the DOD to take notice of Poseidon?

Without documented, creditable studies...I think it would be hard. I'm certainly thinking about it though and would be open to any and all suggestions!

Bio,

I was thinking about when it gets hot again I am going to buy myself one of those CamelBack water blatters. Man, just dose it up with about 6 scoops of Poseidon, 4gms of BA and CM and hit the mountain and sip the entire way. Sweat and Tingle!

Next time you place an order with NP, ask for some samples of the new products(hopefully they'll have some left).
