sadly only the uvb lightbox has really worked in clearing psoriasis, it'll last awhile and come back

In the meantime she wants to give it another 2 weeks to see if it has any effect on the psoriasis and then if not she plans on going to the doctor to see what they say about this recent outbreak.

She also mentioned that overall she feels very good since starting the poseidon. So she says she will continue it even if it does not help the psoriasis per say. Good feedback lt, hope the last two weeks go good.

You mentioned the uv box, does she tan any at all? I know for many people that have bad acne, the tanning booth really knocks down the symptoms. Seems like the psorisis is treated the same way.

Thanks for the continued feedback ltyson.

Sorry to hear that the psoriasis has not subsided as of yet. Another few weeks should be very telling. Please continue to keep us up to date.

I'm very glad to hear your wife is benefiting from the effects of Poseidon! Other than the areas of psoriasis, has she noticed any improved skin tone yet? That has been what most of the women taking Poseidon rave about...lol!

The key is UV"B" specifically from what I understand. She does tan but it does little to help in a common commercial bed that primarly generates UV"A" if I rember right.

What is odd is that she has only had a slight case of it over the years, sometimes almost non-existent to sometimes a few spots here and there, but then all of a sudden over the course of a few days she went to a full out onslaught of it across here whole body.

First thing I looked at was identifying what changed in her diet, lifestyle, day to day activities, anything, but nothing changed. No different diet, soaps, detergents, shampoos, lifestyle, schedule change, stress, nothing.

She is starting to research a doctor in the area as we moved a while back. I figure in another week or two if things are not better she will go and we will see what they say.

I will keep updating the thread.

Yes UVB, they're starting to retire those old UVA boxes ugh, I used to go in those after taking horse pills and wearing granny UV protection. I get a nice tan in the UVB litebox

Thanks Workin. She will continue to take Poseidon even if it does not help the psoriasis. She likes it. She does notice a difference in the skin are that is not effected. She commented how she no longer uses lotion and such as it is no longer dry and looks very good.

She has also reported a general feeling of wellness despite the outbreak. Energy is good and you have converted her to the darkside- she will be a user for life.

Good for you, bad for me, as now that means I have to purchase double the amount from from here on out so she does not use up all of mine .

On a slightly unrelated note, I myself am really looking forward to start using it consistently. I have really liked it the times I have taken it.

By Monday, I will be fully recovered from some recent training and non-training injuries and as of this week have started to introduce my supplementation back into my diet as I get ready to start an 8 week stack centered around a clean bulk. Poseidon will be a staple of that stack and beyond. I can't wait. Not being able to train all out for the last few weeks while I recovered, has been torture. I look forward to this next phase.

Over the years it has always been isolated to a few small patches that various creams or such would take care of. I know the UVB and things like cortisone injections at certain sites seem to help others, and i am sure there are many more treatments available that may provide some relief and lessen the outbreak but as you mentioned in the other post never truly "cure" it.

May I ask, how long you have lived with psoriasis and do yo get bad outbreaks or is it fairly light? I ask because my wife is 37 years old but it did not start showing up until her late 20's if I remember right.

Any advice you may have is welcome.

I've had it since I was 14 or 15, it came on during a bad flu. I had 1 clear year of psoriasis in high school. I haven't been cleared up in quite awhile. When I get sick is when it really flairs up to high heaven. That and weather changes cos it to flair. I cleaned up my diet last year but that's done nothing for my psoriasis, my skin is nicer and all but the psoriasis isn't affected. I've done most of the creams from mild to strong, coal tar, and one drug that requires a bloodtest monthly, I gave up on that after a couple of weeks, too risky. Sunlight or the litebox have been the only things so far in my case. I even tried custom herb mixed and acupuncture to no avail but an empty wallet. I don't know any other psoriasis sufferers to compare with, it seems to be different per person, and so many theories on what causes it from autoimmune problems to gut issues. I started using cetaphil lotion, that's helped a lot in keeping the flaking down, cetaphil is a good lotion and can be found at costco

Thanks for sharing that. I will have her look into gettting some of the Cetaphil lotion and will also let you know how things go in general the next few weeks.

Enbrel works wonders for psoriasis. I had a bad case >10% body coverage and within 4 months it has pretty much vanished, save for a spot or 2. I also spent years doing the UV B therapy, and it does help too. The good news about the UVB is that it does not cause aging, so you dont end up looking like a prune.

Ah enbrel, i don't think i could handle shots
Were there any side affects? You can still get a sun burn from the uvb treatment.

Can someone explain to me the difference between uvb and uva? Are we talking tanning beds or just facial boxes or what?

Just curious.

I have a pic of a litebox, it's similar to a tanning booth but these are usually in medical buildings. You start off slowly and gradually increase time and strength.

http://www.hoodrichproductions.com/d...ebox.sized.jpg

# UVA vs. UVB Radiation:

* UVA rays have longer wavelengths and are recognized as a deep-penetrating radiation. Long-term exposure can damage the skin's connective tissues, leading to premature aging and playing a role in the development of skin cancer. This type of ray is used in tanning salons. UVA rays pass through window glass.
* UVB rays have shorter wavelengths and are primarily responsible for sunburn (think B=burning rays) and skin cancer. UVB rays are blocked by window glass.
