What I don't understand is why prisoners are allowed to live on death row for long after a death sentence. I believe there should be a timely limit, for the sake of all involved, and for the economy. Perhaps the federal gov't could appoint a person whose sole job is to familiarize himself with the cases
and decide wether or not pardons/life sentences would be granted instead of letting people linger on for years draining our tax dollars, vainly hoping their state's governor is even familiar with the case, much less be willing to grant leniency at the last second.

They are allowed every chance of appeal and that takes an enormous amount of time.

Damn right. Kill 'em. They robbed the victim of their right to life; so too should their right be forfeited.

  5. I would have no problem with the death penalty in these cases, but i do see why the court ruled the way they did. People should be more concerned about the states like Vermont, that have such disgusting liberal judges. I would rather see articles about that.

No, I see what you're getting at: when it suits a brotha, go all Old Testament g-o-d on someone's ass!

When it comes to forgiveness, go all soft New Testament holy-trinity on some ****!

I love the flexibility of christianity!

    Haha, I kid, I kid.

  8. I don't know what exactly constitutes rape or if it is a case-by-case decision, but I would imagine "raping" a young MALE child (as long with some females) would frequently involve sodomy -- something that is almost incontestably malicious and brutal. You could even go as far as to say that it's a form of torture or deliberate/extenuating physical abuse -- which I certainly feel warrants the option to pursue the death penalty given the nature of such rapes.

Funny, though...much like Slavery, there is zero age guidelines in the bible and MANY instances of child rape - many times on orders from god. In addition, women are already treated almost subumanely where permission is not required at all. Rape means you have to marry or pay a fine.

Then again, you mask your contradiction (forgiveness and mercy) under the banner of understanding gods mind and proclaim them his enemes?

  10. The people of sumaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their god, they will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open.

  12. it costs more money to keep someone in prison and death row than to kill them. for what like $.50 u can put a bullet in someones head but it costs like somwhere like $25,000 a year to keep someone in prison? people who rape children deserve to die...and i think the parents should have the option to do it themselves without any repurcussion...my 2 cents...cause i know when i have children and if that happens...that SOB is dead even before the cops get to them

  13. charles bronson had the right idea in the death wise movies

    zero tolerance

  14. I'm against the death penalty, but not in this case. I think child molestors and rapists are absolute scum. They should be put to death.

I remember seeing debates about this on MSNBC the other night. I do agree with the boundaries that some states have set, such as New York. If the girl is 16 years of age, then the man can be no more than 4 years older than her. Something like that. But there is a big difference between a girl being 16 and a girl being 12 or under.

I'm disappointed in the Supreme Court as well.

  15. i think that anyone who rapes a child should have a red hot poker rammed up their rectum so they can feel the pain that they are infecting on innocent kids!

then they can have their dicks cut off, the eyes gouged out, ear drums perferated and their tongues cut off, then they can feel no evil, see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil.

    sorted

  16. Gonna be a messy thread when you move from discussing death penalty for child rape and add religion...

    ain't that the truth

  18. Messy? yes...but when people include relgion in their criteria to determine their opinion on the matter...or yet CLAIM to, yet speak in contradictions, then yeah it gets messy.

But remember we are speaking guidelines for state sponsored justice....not absolute justice. There is a difference.

  19. I happen to agree with the decision. I would probably kill the individual in question if I were to have the chance but as far as justice is conerned I believ the punishment should be life in prison with no chance of parol.

  20. slighty off topic here but is that you in your work gear Jayhawkk? your arms are looking solid, you're looking like a universal solider bro

  21. Yeah it is and thanks

  22. Was this directed towards me, or just a general statement you made for the sake of anyone posting in this thread? Just wondering because religion has nothing to do with why I'm against the death penalty in most cases.

  23. A shotgun blast statement that wasn't directly pointed at anyone (hence shotgun). I just saw several references to God and knew it could turn bad if it continued.

  24. just to get off of religion and make it about the topic, I am torn personally. I understand why the molesters should be killed but there are issues in specific states with the age of consent. For example (if this has already been discussed I apologize) if a 16 year old girl engages in sex with an 18 year old boy, he is technically a molestor in certain states, regardless of consent. Now the concern is, obviously he shouldnot be killed (unless it is my daughter ) We have to figure out where to draw the line.
