If it helps keep illegal aliens out of our country then I'm all for it.

The idea that this will somehow control illegal aliens is nonsense. This is for tracking and forming databases on citizens. It is something that all individuals who cherish freedom(no matter the political leanings) should be against.

Good insight from Ron Paul:
Paul has warned that the Real ID Act "establishes a national ID card" and "gives authority to the Secretary of Homeland Security to unilaterally add requirements as he sees fit."

The illegal alien aspect is just the smokescreen once citizens start to accept the requirement of an ID to work or buy goods and services for aliens, then it is just a matter of time before the program is used against the average citizen. How about this hypothetical future; Your credit score slips below a certain point
(650?) and they turn off your ID card so you cannot buy anything until your score is reevaluated.

After the card will come the RFID chip implants. First they will chip the children for school and the old people for medicare, then people on public assistance then the people who get arrested, then you then me.

Will the government use the IDs for evil? Nobody knows, but their track record is sketchy at best
