I agree somewhat. I think if someone breaks into your house you should be able to shoot first. Wtf would you want to wait to see if they have a gun. Another dumb law is excessive force. If someone attacks you on the street your not allowed to keep beating them here in pgh. You should be allowed to stomp them out. Once again why give someone that is trying to mug you a chance to pull a gun.

Most states have laws that only permit lethal force as a defense against a lethal attack. Once the attack is no longer life threatening then it is no longer permissible to use lethal force.

So, if someone attacks you with a knife, then drops the knife during the struggle, you are not allowed to pick up the knife and retaliate, if you do you are now the law breaker.

Now, if there are no witnesses and the attacker falls on his own knife...well, thats another case.

we just passed a similar law to the texas law. it just makes sense to me. the offender should not have more rights than the victim.

AZ will be following suit soon. I agree with it as Castle Doctrine makes sense.

Go out of your way to break into my home and I think I have the right to assume you are there to cause my family harm. Causing my family harm is a capitol offense in my book.
