Hey guys i have a question.
Is getting most of your protein needs from dairy sources bad??
I drink about 3 glases of milk or sometimes 4
4 slices of cheese
1 serving of shreded cheese
1 cup of yogurt.
2 eggs
And 2 scoops of my protein
And i get some protein from my pea protein cereal, grains and shimp egg rolls

Over all heres my protein intake.

Milk:27-36 grams
Cheese:29 grams
Yogurt:5 grams
Protein:50 grams
Eggs:12 grams
Pea protein:9 grams
Grains:15 grams
Shrimp egg rolls:10grams

Btw my carbs and fat intake are perfect and have no worries about 45 grams of fats a day 90 percent are mono and polysaturated fats the good healthy kind and well the 10 perfect is saturated and well yeah besides too much dairy protein everything else seems ok.

Plz help is too much dairy bad for you?

There's been a lot of talk about how a lot of dairy can screw with your hormones, but I don't think it really has a dramatic effect. It could give you some bloat but other than that I would think it would be alright.

Some studies suggest that men taking more than one glass of milk are at higher risk of prostate cancer. But this was linked to low fat and skimmed milk.

Here's my take on milk bro ...

Milk is produced by cows for baby cows ...

Why do grown ass men need milk?

There's studies that show the increase of estrogen (which makes perfect sense since its mean to be for baby cows) sooooo Im not risking it ...

I rather have Almond milk or Coconut milk, tastier and u get some MTLs out of it ... Oh less calories too but def nowhere near on the protein

either your body is good with dairy or it isnt....if it is then just go with it. I drink a ton of milk every day...i count it towards caloric intake more than tracking it for protien though- better to get your protien from a variety of sources, especially meat just for more food value.

As far as long term you mean!? Not really sure.
I think anything in extremes, is not as good as balance or variety.
What about any blood tests showing HDL's LDL's levels?
I see you eat shrimp egg rolls, do you eat fish or meat at all?
Do you try to eat organic diary at least?
That all said, I can tell you I personally, do not eat for health reasons, I eat more for strength. Although I do the best I can with my diet, I do think there are probably foods I abuse somewhat.

Ehhh well i stoped the egg roll stuff.
Now eat turkey meat its kinda expensive but its the lean turkey meat and its not mechanically seperated, and its minimally processed so is that good?i make paninies with that.
Also i bought the tyson microwavable frozen grilled chicken is that any good?
And well i only eat fat free USDA organic milk only i buy the great value cuz its cheap and i drink the entire gallon in 3or four days.

Ha if they were not homemade, prolly just as well, since I don't know how great processed stuff like that is to eat constantly.

Not really familiar with it. I just think the less processed and more natural stuff you get may be better, however it may take a little more time to prepare/cook.

Can I ask why you use mostly diary, if you are not a lacto vegan?

Let me state for the record I am not a nutritionist or have any letters behind my name. I was just asking and it would just seem more logical to me, to try to get more variety in the diet and eat as much as you can from a natural standpoint, instead of a processed or boxed diet. It might even be less expensive too!?

You're probably getting too much dairy.

Apparently anything over 20g will give you cancer, but beyond that...

too much dairy will give you excess mucus, stuffy noses, congestion, funk with your immunity and cloud your head.

Just say no!

B)

ps. and Idk if you have a girlfriend or whatever, but too much dairy will make your spooge taste like old dishwater.

Baby cows get big and put on lots of mass, fast? Not sure how relevant to us lol, but I remember rippetoe saying something like that.

Newborn cows get big on new mother milk, which is very high in colustrum and growth hormones and what not. It's like super charged milk, for babies, in the earliest stages of development to accelerate growth...I guess to sort of give them a kick start at life.

Personally, I'm with Arnold "Milk is for babies, men drink beer."

Does no one else find it strange that were the only animal that drinks milk as adults....and it's not even from our own species?

Kinda gross if you ask me. I.E. milk intolerance/allergies.

we are also the only animal eating cooked food. maybe if other species don't eat cooked food or milk is because they cant cook or milk.

If other species could milk a cow maybe they would also drink milk ;)
If you give milk to a dog, he will drink it. but he will never milk the cow himself.

From the numerous things I've read on milk from many perspectives (I was a milk addict for about 20 years of my life), I really think you feel a lot better if you cut straight milk out of your diet as hard as it can be. All that sugar and lactose could be severely outweighing the benefits of the proteins and fats.

I remember the term GOMAD. Gallon Of Milk A Day. No one needs a gallon of milk a day but i definitely think it is beneficial to have milk with your protein shakes instead of water. I kinda put the baby cow picture in my head to. But when a cow grows the most its drinking milk so no comment on that but milk is beneficial in my opinion.

Dairy protein is by far the best protein source available with the highest amount of BCAA's, high leucine content and great bioavailability. IMO there's no real reason to avoid dairy unless you're lactose intolerant or if it bloats you up real bad.

I think the issue with hormones has more to do with all food in the states pumped full of hormones for faster growth. If you're worried, buy everything organic - meats, eggs AND dairy.

I'm from a country where GMO nor hormones are allowed in food production.

During a cut I might get all of my 250g of protein solely from low-fat dairy.

To answer the qeustion we have to look at our own primal backround , we ate meat, some fruit and veggies ,, grains, milk and starches were a once in a while thing .,,

Ok so are we made to drink milk and eat grains? Well sometimes but it shouldnt be your main go to food , milk(and yes whey also) causes inflamation , the amount/degre of inflamation depends from person to person so if looking good and feeling good is your goal then I would use it while bulking but keep it low while cutting

Technically, ALL protein will cause inflammation so that's not a reason to exclude milk or milk-based proteins.

Even if you don't rely on all those studies, warning on the potential risks of excessive dairy products intake, I think a well balanced diet is always a better option. We can have no idea as to the possible consequences. I don't think you should make experiments when your health is at stake/ Anything that's too much isn't good. Take care

I've found great gains on 1/2 gallon a day

Wasnt talking about the protein
That's the only part of milk that is inflammatory. The rest is alkalinic and actually a buffer against inflammation at the renal level.

False and false as this only happens in the case of an allergy or intolerance. You need to back off of the broscience.

Lactose does not cause inflammation to most, just some. And even if lactose caused inflammation for everyone lactose-free dairy products are readily available everywhere and taste the same. Just a little more expensive.

Insulting one of the most respected and knowledgable members on the forum isn't usually the best route to take. Stop being ignorant and accept the fact someone (most ppl apparently) know more than you do and have facts and science to back it up. You have 488 posts in 2 years and about 6 of them in this thread alone are garbage. No one is here to argue. And there is no place for arguments when one side's position is supported by research. It's just asinine and immature.

Hiding behind a degree? That's a new one. Jaces, you've yet to post anything that supports your position(s) that you've taken and, when refuted, you swerve into ad hominem and red herring instead. I don't know which boards and people you've previously encountered, but the kind of junk you post will be refuted around here. Either deal with it or stop posting nonsense.

Probably bc u don't seem to be very good at reading and digesting information. If u were positively active and productive on here you would know of him and others who are nothing but assets. You are a waste here and it's rather infuriating. Take your crap to a crappy forum. This isn't the place for it.
