Affliction Salaries

Invalid Link Removed

There are no words to describe what you are about to see. Hint: Fedor wasn't even close to being the top paid fighter.

Matt Lindland deserved about 50k.

Arlovski around 150k max.

Tim Sylvia maybe more than what he got in the UFC, but not now. 800k is way high though, maybe +50-100k more than the UFC amount just to justify it.

Fedor 1 million easy.

Garbage. I remember reading something a couple months ago that said Fedor was getting 2 mil. Seemed steep, but 300k is peanuts for him. How the fvck does Tim Sylvia get almost 3x what Fedor got? What blasphemy.

Sh!t. Lindland got almost as much as Fedor. I am sure that there is a huge chunk under the table as well (PPV %, merchandise, etc.), but some of that is pure BS. No way AA should get more than Fedor and Barnett.

I don't believe it at all. It's BS. Why would anyone pay Mike Whitehead 50k?

I agree with you guys. The numbers don't make sense at all. There's way Rothwell should be within 100K of Fedor. This is from SI so there's a good chance its accurate.

I'm with you. I call BS. Let me research further/wait for the real facts to come out.

Why would they pay Lindland, a guy who draws little attention, almost the same amount as Fedor, the best fighter in the world, who draws at least a decent bit of attention.

There is no way in hell that Fedor made less than half of what Silvia made....he must have either had a huge signing bonus or a cut of the PPV....

Holy Shizzle...

Seriously? They thought Silvia was the big dog in this fight? Or that most payed to watch this because of him? It's outrageous...

On a side note, anyone know where I may find this fight to watch?

Atencio is reporting that PPV sales will definitely be 100k+ for this thing.

Fedor's next opponent is also rumored to be AA in Oct. or Nov., then he'll fight on Dream's NYE card, and hopefully Barnett in March.

Too lazy to find the links for these, but there were sources.

The former, just ribbing you man, no offense.

No, I didnt take offense....believe it or not, I get **** about that alot...LOL..

Ive been a mod on another board for about 11-12 years....many, many times back in the day people used to make imposter threads. Obviously you cant do that now, but then it was an everyday thing. Most of the mods developed little nuances to our posting so that if another mod read a post and questioned whether it was authentic or not, they could tell by the sig....its just been a habit since....LOL...

Well that explains it. I always wondered why people signed their names after their post. I've questioned others about it and they got mad and told me because they felt like it. Thanks for an explanation that actually makes sense.

Cool, can I be a mod on your board? :food:

After the salary information was released for Affliction: Banned, people noted that Fedor Emelianenko made only $300,000 for the fight and wondered aloud where the justice was in Tim Sylvia making $800,000 for his part in the main event. Now, according to NBCSports.com, it appears there was more than met the eye.

"Emelianenko received a sizable part of his Affliction contract up front in the form of a signing bonus, and added that Emelianenko also owns the rights to his fight footage in several European countries. That second part may not mean much right now but if Affliction chooses to hold an event in Europe, they would have to pay him for the footage."

While this may not seem like much up front, the large signing bonus protected Fedor in the unlikely event of a loss, while holding the rights to the footage is huge for him down the road as we've seen how important the rights to footage can be in the various UFC takeovers. Whether it be for Affliction or for someone else, Fedor will be able to control the use of that footage and get top dollar for it, making money off of fights even well after they've happened, and that's just smart business on any level.

We all knew there was something else to it. Isn't Monte Cox involved in Affliction or M-1? Someone else brought this up and it could explain why Rothwell and Sylvia got so much.
