I just saw an advertisement for Dana White appearing on TSN's (Canadian ESPN) "Off the Record" tomorrow night. This should be great. It is the most candid talk show in sports that I've seen. I don't know if you Americans can find a way to watch it, but you should. I think they might replay it on the net if you google "TSN OTR". I can't wait.

If you check out the bottom of the page there is a section called "Really Off the Record" where they talk about Lesnar. This Landsberg fella actually asks real questions, the White interview should be nice. If he doesn't give up real answers, Landsberg will make him look like an ass.

Less than 2 weeks to go and promoters Pete Rodley and Alex Caporicci are pleased to announce the updated fight card as well as the pre-FREEDOM FIGHT festivities. “The last few months have been a whirl wind of activity but all the hard work has paid off. The fighters are ready, the fans are ready and Ottawa/Hull is buzzing even more than in July!” says Freedom Fight Productions owner Pete Rodley. Alex Caporicci adds “Over the holidays we lost a couple of fighters due to injury but the fight card is now final, with some great additions.”

A welcome addition to the team is Jacob Stahler, known for his high impact ring announce style THE MOUTH OF THE MIDWEST is always the guy to get the crowd pumping and set the tone for any MMA event. “I’m excited to make my first trip to Canada to participate in such a high profile event. On January 14th I will be the MOUTH OF THE NORTH and I couldn’t be more pumped to get up there and Rock the house!” says Stahler.


Another new element is the FREEDOM FIGHT GIRLZ. The beauties will be out in full force representing this historic event at not only the live show but also the pre-event festivities in the Ottawa/Hull region! As with any MMA event, there have been some changes to the APEX: FREEDOM FIGHT 2006 lineup. Stepping up to replace Ryan Ackerman on Team USA against BJJ phenom Wagnney Fabiano is Jeff Curran protégé Matt “Sunshine” Fiordirosa. Fiordirosa comes into the fight with a 4-0-0 MMA record and is expected to use his wrestling and striking ability to offset Fabiano’s world class submission skills. Fabiano’s career is taking a new turn in the APEX organization as he believes this is the first step in proving to the world that one of the best grapplers is also one of the best MMA fighters. The underdog Fiordirosa wants to show he is the next big thing out of the Midwest and Fabiano is the ticket to getting the respect he deserves.

Added to the card is a featured fight that will pit APEX Veteran Nuri Shakir against Joe Doerksen student Kevin Manderson from Winnipeg. Shakir impressed all Canadian fans with his performance against UFC veteran Steve Berger at the last APEX event and is said to be looking for the big KO against Manderson. Manderson at 5-2-1 feels its time for him to step up in competition and sees Shakir as a big test to see where he stands among the sports elite.
