I didn't see it, but it seems like in Ninja's last few fights that he very easily becomes wobbily. It happened in Cage Rage, against Villasenor, and, apparently, against Lawler. I think he has taken too many shots from PRIDE and Chuteboxe.

I think you're right about Ninja having taken too many shots. He did take some pretty good shots against Lawler and didn't get wobbled as easily as I had expected. In the 3rd round Lawler caught him with a hard left hook and then a hard straight left, Ninja was wobbled and when he hit the deck Lawler did his trademark huge looping strikes ground n pound. Ninja was on the mat for a while and could barely walk out of the ring with the assistance of 2 guys helping him. He's young, he should take a nice break, if he doesn't his career is going to keep going downhill. Lawler looked better then ever, smarter, better cardio, and still Ruthless!

Nice. I like Robbie and I'm curious how he'd do with the UFC elite these days. I also like that there are some interesting 185 matches in different orgs, though. How about Lawler-Linland since stinky ain't fighting anyone else?

I didn't see it. Did Diaz look really bad? What did you think about the decision?

I love Lawler, his fights are always exciting. Lawler/Lindland sounds good, probably for Lindland though. Lawler would have a decent chance for a KO, but most likely Lindland would octopuss him to the ground and stank out a victory.

Diaz looked a bit off. The Aina guy hits hard and is pretty explosive. I think Diaz won every round, but they were all close. It's really tough to judge, because Aina landed 1/4 the blows that Diaz landed, but they were connecting with 3 times the force of Diaz's punches. Diaz was pawing at him and landing, but not with much force. Diaz also had an armbar at the very end of the fight, if there were 10 more seconds left he would've almost certainly finished Aina. So, Diaz looked a little worse than normal, but not horrible. In the post fight interview he was rambling like a tard goober, that said, I like the guy. I'd like to see a Lawler/Diaz re-match, but I doubt either one is gonna move up or down in weight.

Villasenor/Fukuda was a pretty good fight. Really close, could've gone either way. Most of the fight consisted of some pretty decent stand up exchanges.

Shields dominated Charuto. Got mount in the first round, and rained down on Charuto for the TKO.

It was a much better event than I had expected, check it out if you get a chance.

I don't like that pawing-to-score-points style. It's cheap. I will say that Diaz has rarely been in a boring fight, though.

Lindland would probably take Ruthless, but it's an interesting fight. I wouldn't mind him getting a chance for redemption against Mayhem either. Kang is also out there.... Misaki...

That pawing did lead to Lawler getting KO'd by a short right hook. It just shouldn't count for much on the scorecards. Aina landed some hard shots on Diaz, but Diaz has a steel chin, dropped him once actually, but Diaz just monkey rolled to guard and then got up.

I would love to see Lawler/Kang. Kang is the more complete fighter, but Lawler hits haaaaard, and he's got good wrestling, Kang might have trouble taking it to the ground. Lawler seems to have learned how to conserve his energy, and seemed in better shape.

I give Robbie some credit, he has some crazy power, but I dont think he can hang with the elite.

For those that didn't see Ninja vs. Lawler: Invalid Link Removed

The quality is not very good, but it's better than nothing.

Ninja actually looked pretty good until the 3rd. I wonder why he gassed. Age? He used to go 10x5x5 and work non-stop. I think his biggest error used to be that he was shooting some goofy doubles that left him open and tired him even more. When have we seen him shoot doubles? I remember he would throw punches, set up, and go for a trip. That always worked. Why try to wrestle a superior wrestler?

I read somewhere that Hughes flipped on Yamasaki for letting it go too long. I think Hughes was right. That was a late stoppage, and Ninja shouldn't have taken that many bombs to the head. He was not even close to recovering.

It was an uppercut that put Ninja down? I need to stop drinking during these events. I also thought it was a nicely timed stoppage by Yamasaki, judging from the secondary camera angle.

Damn, I haven't watched this yet, but after reading all of this I'm going to have to now...I was just taking a study break, but I think it's going to be more of a hiatus now :D
