Does anybody have more info on this? It might just be too early to have much more info that above.

Lightweight UFC fighter and former Ultimate Fighter contestant Melvin Guillard tested positive for a major metabolite of cocaine following his bout with Joe Stevenson at last week's UFC Fight Night 9, according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The NSAC's drug testing results show that Guillard's urinalysis was found to contain cocaine metabolite Benzoylegonine in an amount equal to or greater than 150 ng/ml. When reached for comment by MMAWeekly's Damon Martin, Guillard's manager had no comment at this time.

Guillard is the first MMA fighter to test positive for cocaine in the state of Nevada. In neighboring California, only one fighter, Ricco Rodriguez, has tested positive for cocaine.

The six fighters on the card who were drug-tested were Guillard, Stevenson, Antoni Hardonk, Justin McCully, Nate Mohr, and Kurt Pellegrino. All of those fighters tested negative for all banned substances, except for Guillard.

Could be a false positive. We'll have to wait and see.

I say we have two MMA leagues- one where all substances are allowed, the other where they're banned.

I'm not kidding about this, either.
 
Would you have to be using anything to be in the "all substances allowed" league? If so, one would basically be admitting that they were using illicit substances.

I wonder how many guys in professional sports in general are COMPLETELY clean...and where do you draw the line? I remember reading a thread on here talking baseball players getting lasik surgery to have better than perfect vision. Not sure if there is anything comparable in MMA to that though.
 
Thats funny considering Guillard accused Stevenson of taking HGH before the fight.
 
This is especially stupid on Guillard's part, b/c, if I remember correctly, cocaine passes through the system very quickly. If that is true, Melvin must have used within a couple of days of the fight. Maybe coke explains the abundance of feces that spews from Melvin's mouth pre-fight.

Def sounds fair.

I really wish this guy would grow up a get his **** together. He would be unstobbable at 155. With over 40+ fighter under his belt, you would think he would be more of a professional, esp being in the UFC now.

In the history of MMA, there has only been one other fighter to test positive for this as well, and that was Rico Rodriguez. Rick is also Guillard's new TP training partner.
