Hey, I just got this from Netflix. They shouldn't call it Greatest Hits, b/c it only has his Vale Tudo fights from Brazil. Cool stuff. It's nice to see a good quality version of his fight vs. Artur Mariano, the one that he lost by cut. Wanderlei obviously dominated the fight, even after the cut. The cut may have been self inflicted, b/c Wandy didn't seem to get caught with anything substantial. He definitely made it worse by trying tons of headbutts. I wish I knew Portuguese, b/c I could only sort of understand Rudimar, etc. fighting with the ref and the Dr. about letting the fight continue.

Are you saying that I have an unhealthy fascination with Wandy because I don't. Ok, maybe I do, but I can handle it.

I have seen most of those fights (I love the fight vs Jackson), but it is a nice compilation.

BTW, some really cheesy music, and overall, low production quality compared to UFC or Pride, but still well worth a watch.

Wanderlei has surprisingly good sportsmanship vs. Adrian Serrano.

Seems like he relies too much on boxing, but the relentless ferocity is definitely there.

Yeah, you can tell that his Muay Thai has really developed over the years, especially his knees.

Health only becomes a concern if you try to fight him.

It was weird seeing some of these after seeing him at his peak, b/c you keep expecting knees and stomps, but he just keeps throwing fists.

That head tat issue did suggest a high level of fanboyism, but I have no problem with having favorite fighter or three, I think everyone should, it supposed to be personally engaging entertainment.

At least your boy appears to be still near his peak, my guy is on the downside of his career, and neither are a midget.

Have you guys seen the Van Arsdale fight? VA did pretty well, but the ending was strange. Wandy seemed to connect with a weird, upper-cut like punch, then threw him down and kicked him in the head. Wandy walked away before the ref even stopped it. What the hell happened there?

I think VA got hit with something else that couldnt' be seen b/c his face was bleeding.
