UFC 62 and PRIDE WWGP

I cannot believe that these will be on two consecutive days. I am interested in UFC 62, but I am really excited to watch Kang, Henderson, and Gono fight in the same card.
Anyone else really giddy about this weekend?

I'm not really pumped about UFC 62 and if I watch Pride it'll be by myself. All of my friends are TUFers or guys that occassionally watch boxing and K1 and are just getting into MMA...I really wish there was more exposure here for Pride. I'm assuming the Pride event is available on PPV, right? I've never really checked it out b/c I'm not going to pay $40 to watch something by myself.

EDIT: I just saw that Nick Diaz will be replacing Alves on Saturday due to illness. I think that fight has a lot of potential!...oh yeah, he'll be fighting Neer for those that don't know.

I just want to see Chris Brennan and Dan Henderson...I didn't even know Brennan was still around (haven't really looked for him either though). Now that I think about it though, the UFC card doesn't look too bad. I can't imagine how the Bonnar/Griffin match will go. And what IF Sobral pulls off the upset?

62 is really this weekend? Wow, shows you how dead on this card I am. For most Pride and some UFC's I usually count down the days from 2 or 3 weeks out. Hopefully the Bushido will be good. With the addition of commercials I doubt we'll see more then half the fights. UFC has really gone downhill, they consistently have 3 or 4 *****y fights on each card!

I will have to agree. I think that they are going about getting the sport mainstream in the wrong way. They should have more of the smaller names fight on Spike and show those more often (of course sprinkling some big names in the programming here and there). In turn, limiting the big PPVs to a lesser frequency, but with better matches. That being said, I will probably still get the PPV this weekend b/c all of my friends are cheap bastards and have come to expect it.

I'm guessing that was in reference to what said about the UFC. That probably is a bad idea. Maybe my idea was coming completely from the wrong angle (Vince McMahon style. haha)...I've just been frustrated with some of the PPVs this year, but I guess that is bound to happen.

I am really excited about the Pride card, but I prefer Pride much more over UFC.
I would like to see the Babalu vs Liddell fight.

Could be the Fight of the Night.

I feel the same way. These guys are both brawlers, so I think they'll still be swinging for the fences. Griffin probably has improved more, but Bonnar has nothing to lose.

I think the Diaz/Neer fight will be a good brawl too.

For anyone that saw the WWGP, I would say all of the favorites won except for the tournament favorite. How Henderson came out with such a lackluster effort is beyond me.

Not sure what you mean by over at Avant...? I assume it's another forum, but I'm not familiar with it. I would love to get set up though. I'm on some other obscure MMA P2P sites, but the quality is very poor.

I had to find the fights online because FSN thought more people would watch the Rangers-A's game. I think it will be on again at 7 on Tuesday.

You might want to check your area; mine is FSN Southwest so I am not sure what the other stations are planning.
