Hip abduction/adduction

Are hip abduction and adduction exercises beneficial for kicking? My hip flexibility is already quite poor, but my working these muscles using machines, will my flexibility suffer?

It won't make it worse, but you'll need to address the hip flexibility. Easiest way: buy a foam roller and do some yoga.

ok cool, thanks for the advice! would doing the exercises improve my kicking strength/speed do you think?

With crappy hips, you won't be able to kick fast or hard.
