why would dr (famous here) prescribe this test.
it is ment for women, so the range is possibly not right.

he didnt, thats a mistake by Quest

i just got tested today and told them ULTRASENSITIVE

on shippens lab sheet it just says (Estradiol)

so the lab just picks the first on that pops up which is Estradiol,Rapid.


by on a side note a few weeks ago i called him about this, and he told me this test gives him what he needs. so i don tknow

Good for you, at least one test you will get right.
Next time you may get bold enough to re-check all other items.

I think there are some possibilities:

#1 Quest is doing poor job in communicating to doctors the nuances of their different tests

#2 Doctors do not know or do not care about them

#3 Doctors have a habit of writting illegible scripts that are latter on second guessed by whoewer is filling the orders.

I will try to mantain my way of requesting my lab tests:

I make the list
e-mail it to doctors office
nurse prints it out on office stationary
doctor signs it and I am on my way to Quest
(note the script is printed clearly, names follows with important numbers that identify proper protocols for testing)
Opportunity for mistake is minimized.
