Hello everybody,
I managed to convince my GP to run some tests on my levels due to the common symptoms: Difficulty losing weight, tiredness, lack of libido, unclear thinking, difficulty recovering from exercise etc.
I also have Gyno from childhood. I am 6'1" and 209 lbs about 20% bf/ and I am 43 Years old.
I tried to convince Doc to test E levels, but he likes to take it "one step at a time"
The results I have are:
Testosterone, Serum 516 ng/dL 241-827
Testosterone, % Free+Weakly Bound 12.6% 9.0-46.0
Testosterone, F+W bound 65.0 ng/dL 40.0-250.0
Testosterone, Free(Direct) 11.2 pg/mL 6.8-21.5
TSH 0.748 uIU/mL 0.350-5.500
Prolactin 7.3 ng/mL 2.1-17.7
I have sleep apnea, but I am compliant in my treatment (CPAP)
I am bothered by the fact the Doctors office did not call me, I had to track down these results. It indicates to me that he reviewed the results, and deemed them "normal"
Any input is welcome. Thanks
With out blood tests only palm reader can help.
Testosterone wise, we like to be in upper range, on the top or within 10% of FreeT and BioAvailableT as done by Quest Diagnostic.
Your tests are from LabCorp.
This is second or third level guessing, keep that in mind.
Testosterone, F+W bound 65.0 ng/dL (40.0-250.0)
Testosterone, Free(Direct) 11.2 pg/mL (6.8-21.5)
Your are very low on both of these numbers.
It does not mean that you are going to start with Testosterone supplementation but lack of testosterone is one your problems.
Off hand, something is not right with your thyroid.
You need good blood test, preferably at Quest Diagnostics, blood drawn at Quest.
Taking "one step at a time" with blood test is cruelty.
If you are masochist you have found the right doctor.
The test below cost $3500, I had it done in April07,
fully paid by my Medicare (I am 67yo).
I do this about once/year, 2-3 smaller tests in between.
I rather have a knowledge of my blood lewels, easier for doctor or anyone to figure out what may be the problem.
Make sure you get (clean) copy of your blood test report.
You can rewrite it and post here, look at my report for a sample.

Make a copy of this list, ask your doctor fos script, go to Quest few days before test, let them prepare paperwork and tell them when to cme, it is large test.
