Testim Update

Hey boys, I haven't posted in sometime, so here's an update on my HRT Therapy, perhaps this will help someone:
I have been on HRT for 1 year now, originally test level 44 ng/dl due to heavy past steroid usage. My doc put me on 50 mgs Androgel, then 100 mgs. daily, then switched to 100 mgs. test cyp. per week, and highest my test level achieved was 430 ng/dl, still wasn't feeling too well. We switched to 100 mgs. Testim daily, and after experimenting for 3 months using numerous application techniques I finally found what works for me: Taking a hot shower, as hot as I can stand it, and using a lufa sponge on the application areas, immedatately dry off, and then apply Testim over a large surface area, inner biceps, upper chest, front traps, and directly under armpits (lat areas) and rub it in for sometime until there is no more residue (it's a godamn hassle), but my last 3 blood results have yielded test levels between 1160-1220. Doc says I'm way too high, he wants at max. 700 ng/dl. I refused and told him I feel great I want to stay where I'm at. He finally agreed, as long as my other values do not get out of whack. Anyway I feel great, making good gains in the gym, and in bed. Perhaps my experinence will help some of you. Take care, and I wish you boys all the best!

Just keep in consideration that as much as you wanna put on size have a great sex life etc, the higher you go the more risk you have of negative effects of excess testosterone, elevated liver enzymes would be my worry, I heard of one guy who got taken off because one of his liver enzymes were 3.5x the upper limit and another was double, and this guy would of had a pre-trt level simular to yours.
Just keep an eye out on your blood tests.

I am just curious...but what is the rationale for taking testim or androgel when they cost ten times as much as compounded testosterone cream?

Are they not identical?

Better absorption, I have heard of afew people needing to apply there cream twice a day, I have never heard of anyone getting away with 50mg once a day.

Mainly, the Testim is covered 100% by my insurance (Pacific Care), but yes compounded test cream is much cheaper, and the test cyp. inj. are cheaper yet. Check this out: the cream is not covered at all by my insurance, and the test cyp. requires a $ 20.00 copayment for every script, and so did the Androgel. viagra is covered 100% by my insurance, but Cialis is not covered at all. I don't understand it.

Look if you did this frist thing in the morning and then went and had a blood test you spicked your test. I can't remember seeing anyones levels this high on 10 grams of Testim. If you put the the gel first thing it the morning you need to keep the gel off the arm you get the blood taken from and do the blood test a good 4 hrs. later. If you can't do this get up shower don't put on the gel go get tested then come home and do the gel. In this link fig. 5 shows Testim goes up to about 650 to 700 after putting it on. There is no way you are this high.

That would be the first time I have ever heard of such a thing. There is nothig about testosterone that elevates liver enzymes.

I'd be looking for a different cause.

Do you remember the specifics of the two examples you mention?

The person was on codeine/acetemorphin longterm which probly would of explained it, but his uro discontinued his TRT, and refered him to an endo, they also took him off acetemorphin. He would of been on 200mg test cyp every 14 days.
