i was diagnosed with secondary hypogonadism and the endo prescribed 1500units hcg 2x/week. now, ive read dr. john sticky on hcg protocol and have some concerns. he stated no more than 500units 2x/week. i was not prescribed anything for estrogen control, so should i have a talk with him or use a otc. also, dont want to desensitize my leydig cells with too much hcg(using the 1500units 2x/week) and wind up with primary hypogonadism. how should i handle this situation.

IF he's not a specialist I would get a second opinion hell I'd tried to see if my insurance wouldn't cover a consult with Dr. John.

with 1000 Iu shots of that during my first run with it during pct it turned me into an estrogenic water balloon. i think the level of estrogen increase is grossly underestimated in everything i have read thus far.

hcg is no longer recommended for use during pct on a side note, but as a method to prevent testicular atrophy/natty test production termination on cycle.

1500iu's twice a week is not something i would feel comfortable doing to myself for both estrogen side effect reasons and fear of leydig cell desensitization. primary hypogonadism induced by hcg is the last thing you want. Dr. John also advises against "hcg only" hormone replacement therapy for men for this specific reason.

i would see another endo, if your hypogonadism is secondary there may be other options availabel to you. or you could simiply go the mile and start the androgel or test cyp injection for the rest of your life...

well, i started off with test cyp inj 200ml every 2 weeks. testis atrophied, loss of penile sensation and the hormone roller coaster. will probobly get a second opinion.

500 iu's times 2 per week should be enough to get them up and running again. 125iu has been shown to bring hypgondal males to baseline test values...no need for 1500 iu shots unless you are coming off a highly suppressive cycle and didnt use your 250-500iu twice a week...

test cyp injections are needed once every week as opposed to once every two weeks, but it sounds like you know that, no one likes the hormone rollercoaster effect

try running these numbers by your doctor...try and do it as stupidly as you can.

100mgs test cyp a week
500iu hcg x2 per week

I have been on a much higher doses. My doctor assures me that I won't be desensitized, but I have been skeptical. He is part of a Cenegenics, a highly reputable clinic, so I have decided to give him a chance.

You can see my before and after tests on this thread. I've been on 5,000 IUs twice per week. I'm feeling great and my package is full.

well, ive been as stupid sounding as i can, and acting very timid about the treatment. seems to me i know more about how to treat than he does. i could be wrong though. im gonna do the 500 2x/week for 8 weeks then i see him again. will do blood work etc. hope he will reduce it on the prescription though. just want to feel normal, not superman.

The important thing is to have the right doctor. My dose is far higher than yours and I have not been at ease with my treatment. I feel good, but worry about what the future may bring.

From what I've read, your dose is in line. Of course everyone is different, and this is why we need good physicians.

Here is my take on this first your Dr. did a old way of treatment putting you on 200mgs every 2 weeks this puts you on a roller coaster ride up after the shot and down a week before the next one. I have a link I can send you if you PM me I won't dare post in the open but the bottom line is after the shot your levels will peak at 1300 ng/dl in the next 2 days then by the 7th days will drop way down to under 400. When T levels drop like this we feel bad. Also your Estradiol will go way up with levels spiking at 1300 and they don't come down fast like T dose.
Last yr. I read a post from one of Dr. Shippen's "The Testosterone Syndorme" men that Dr. Shippen now does T shots and does them every 3 days subQ my Dr. will not let me do subQ but said I could try this doing shots into my thigh using a small 27g 1ml x 1/2" lg. needle. At the time I was doing 150 mgs of Depo T shots a week and 500 IU's of HCG 3 times a week. My Estradiol was going very high and I was taking 1mg a day of Arimidex to keep it down. Going on shots every 3 days 62mgs and doing HCG 500IU's the 2 days in between my Estradiol came way down so now I was doing .5 mgs every 3 days the day of my T shot. So I do about 2000 IU's of HCG a week been at it for over a yr.

Most men don't do good on just HCG I am Hypopituitary and my testis work dam good yet I don't feel all that great on just HCG.
