Does anybody on TRT out there know if cigna covers it? Specifically if you went to the low t center?

You have to check the details of your policy.
None if us will know if your policy covers it unless they are on the same one as you.
For example i have cigna and do does my wife. But we have different employers and very different plans.

I had Cigna for the last two years and they covered my prescription at $5 a bottle, but they would not cover the cost for me to go in and get the injection. Kind of screwy, but it worked out better for me because that forced my doctor's hand to let me self inject.
Oh, and I was told that they do not recognize low T centers as legitimate sources, so they would only cover with written approval from my primary care physician or endo and my labs.

I figured the low t center was lying. I asked them my policy allowed for treatment and they took down my info and checked. Even if my insurance does accept it, the center wants $35 co pay every injection and dont allow self inject....How did u get your primary care doc to prescribe it? Ive gotten 2 blood tests the last year and I registered a 320 and 298 on my test and he said I'm normal... you know the whole 250-1000 is normal speech. Really starting to get annoyed at the doc community. It really seems as if very few of them know **** about male testosterone treatment.

Well, I've been going to my doc for about 10 years and so he knows me and trusts that I am all about my health, so when it came time to discuss TRT, he was more open to considering it. He doesn't allow most of his patients. When we found out that Cigna wasn't going to reimburse him for over a year of weekly visits for injections, he ate the cost and told me that considering that he trusts I will be safe and not abuse the prescription, he was going to have me self inject.
With TRT becoming so popular, it is important to have a relationship with your doc so you can discuss all your labs, look into all low T possibilities, get specialist referrals when needed, and to build the trust. To just expect them to write a script because a couple of tests came in low, would be kind of reckless on their side, IMO.
Also, it's important to understand that I worked on this for almost 2 years and saw 3 endos during the process, so there was a lot of testing and a show of commitment on my side.

Yeah I probably should schedule an appointment with an endo soon just out of curiosity how low were you ?

I'd have to ask for all my labs as it has been years, but I do know I was at 219 at my lowest. I think I hovered around 250-219 on a 320-1150 scale while we ran tests before getting on.
