I just got off the phone with people from genova diagnostics and spoke to the rep who handles UK are. I have had several people from UK on forums who have been through 20-30 different practictioners with still no resolution. These people now may have a way to possible get the proper care they need or get answers to why they are feeling tired, run down and fatigued. Your system uses BOPA which is very similar to ATENA here in the US. Genova is in the process of contracting with BOPA in order you can get more in dept diagnostic testing done. I do not know what the coverage is, but if we can get more Dr's on board over there then we can start working on getting some kind of help for you Britts. Since my knowledge of testing is comprehensive, they forwarded my name on to Patrick Hanoway the head director which. If you have open minded Dr over there then it may be wise to speak to them about this. Since as here in the united states when they open up an acct they are entitled to a free educational kit. I have a few dr's over there who curosity i have aroused. You need to to proactive in your health because no one else will.

It is quite easy to set up practitioner accounts for a few of the reputable lab companies over here, definitely not something that is supposed to be kept to doctors and functional medicine practitioners only.

It makes it very hard to find reputable people to go to.

just a lot.of drs over there are in the stone age and.have no.clue these tests are available. I am.working to.make.it.more.known so.people can get proper help. Majority of people I deal with are from UK because medical system is uneducated and drs are afraid to.step out side.the box. Its time.to.change that mentality. I.got my foot in the door already in.more ways then.one.over there..

Good news Matrix. There are a couple other labs in the Uk (e.g biolab) where you can order tests and most of the tests are available on the national health service (which should be free), the real problem is that alot of doctors in the UK just will not use the tests available to them. My general practitioner has freely admitted that he doesn't have a clue about half the tests I've requested (homocysteine, uMMA, hydrogen breath) so you wait 3 months for a 5 minute assessment from a specialist who appear clueless about the most up to date medical information. The real problem in the Uk is one of educating medical practitioners on the latest medical research and findings. It is as if medical practioners are following a one size fits all checklist to investigate and treat patients...however if you were ever in need of anti-depressants in the UK, GP's hand these out freely like sweets!

You are eaxactly right in everything you say, gps are clueless and the specialists are not very special at all, on the nhs its one dose one size fits all cookie cutter aproach and testing is only the very minimal and basic tests due to costs, if one would want a diff course of treatment such as specific tailored dosing etc then they would have a huge challenge.
wouldnt the world be so much easier if that was the case and everyone had just 1 drug for all, 1 headache pill, 1 type of anti d, 1 type of T etc etc which would put 99% of all drug manufacturers out of business
