Please diagnose. Low T , High Estrogen

I have had ED my whole life that I attributed to performance anxiety. I recently had a blood test.

    Testosterone Total 320 ng/dl ref. range 250-1100
free testosterone percent 1.41 ref. range 1.50-2.20%
    free testosterone 45.1 ref. range 35.0-155.0 pg/ml
    Estrogen,Total,serum 163 pg/ml ref. range 130 or less
    Vitamin D 23 ref. range 30-100

My urologist then ordered a prolactin test which was in range at 6.0
2 years ago my total testosterone was 360 ng/dl

I am tired of having to wait 4 weeks to find out I need another blood test and very eager to find out what is wrong with myself. I am otherwise in good health .36 years old 6'3 185lbs. In good shape. I do drink about 6 beers a day. I would at least like to have some hope for a cure and to know what is wrong so I can explain it to my new girlfriend.

Well someone has to say it and perhaps you are expecting to hear it - try not drinking for 3-4 months and see if there is a change.

following on from that, the liver cannot clear estrogen from the body if it spends some of the day , every day , clearing a toxin from your body.

Alcohol is not necessary for the body to survive.I suggest you look at your diet and invest in vegetables such as cauliflower, brocolli, brussel sprouts, which contain a compound called indole-3-carbinol which can shift estrogen metabolism towards less estrogenic metabolites.

its advisable to get this compound from food and not supplementation as estrogen levels affect brain function.

I had a patient same issue.
FOund out he had a mthfrr gene mutation corrected this and he is much better

Through proper lifestyle, and nutritional interventions (removing dairy, soy, ect), proper sleep hygiene on can control estrogen to some degree.
The estrogen test they did was wrong and one would need sensitive test from lab corp or quest not the ultrasensitive test.
Total estrogen is a test for a woman not a man.
One needs to look at proper thyroid paramenters (free and total t3 and t4, rt3, tsh, ferritin, tpo, tgab)
Proper evaliution of adrenal would also be recommeded.

Vitamin d one could go as high as 10-15,000 ius for 6 weeks then retest levels - goal is 70-90 level.
Vitamin d can also stimullate the body response to LH resulting in some peopel an increase in testosterone.

need to look at emotional and phyiscal trama which can cause alteration in HPTA affecting hormonal out put.

sounds to me like your dr is totally clueless when it comes to proper hormone evaluation

He is a urologist , and not a very good one. I don't know how to find a better doctor. Should I be looking for a endocrinologist.

If you need a good dr in your area I be glad to refer you to one, but more so you need to get your life under control no urologist is going to solve that problem. IMO you do not need a DR, but need to get priority straight in life other wise you are going to have major health issues down the road. This is why I love the internet people leave out the most crucial details of why there levels are messed up. When people come into the office I sit down and look at alot of factors that could be contributing cause and basically tell them in a nice way "you need to get your crap together or you are going to be sorry down the road"

    Put it to you striaght
Why use a drug to substitute for poor lifestyles?
Then we wonder why health care is so outrageous..

Thanks Matrix. I have started to exercise and I willing to make any lifestyle changes that are necessary.I have been a holistic doctor and a psychiatrist for a couple of months but it did not seem to help. That would be great if you could recommend a doctor.

    Stick75,

I used to really love drinking beer but have recently given it up because it absolutely destroys my test levels and libido. In fact, it is so dramatic I recently thought I was going into massive ED at close to 41; the culprit?

    ALCOHOL

How do I know this 100%?

Because I have quit on and off 3 times and when I am off my libido gets better and better and better. Of course, my test levels increase and my estrogen levels decrease! Keep in mind...

I ONLY DRINK SUPER HIGH QUALITY TAP BEER.

I wouldn't even drink beer out of a bottle or can. That stuff is WAY MORE toxic for you than the beer I was drinking. Then, we have to get into the fact that most "mainstream" beers are made using Genetically Modified Ingredients (GMO) to get the cost down.

KIRIN and SAPPORO (Japanese Beers QUIT using GMO ingredients over a decade ago).

However, most "mainstream" beer is absolute garbage.

For example, the water they use contains chlorine and fluoride.

In germany, due to purity standards, beer must be made with completely clean water and 100% organic ingredients.

Either way, I miss beer but it was destroying hormone production and libido.

If you are drinking daily (like I used to) you will find when you quit there is "something else" emotionally going on down under that drives you to alter your emotional state by using alcohol.

I am still struggling with this part but making progress.

But don't worry... quitting beer is actually easier than quitting coffee!

That's a whole other story I'll share some time.

If you get all the SUGAR, FLOUR, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, SOY, MILK and GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS out of your diet and also completely quit drinking beer your body will begin to rejuvenate like you can't imagine (I believe).

You'll probably feel results within a 4 to 8 weeks but the REAL BUMP will take more like 8 months. Again, I share this from experience. I went from literally no sex (not even with myself, let alone my GF) to waking up feeling like I was 28 and having sex just about daily. My girlfriend even asked...

"How come whenever you quit drinking you turn into a Horn Dog?"

    The answer is simple:

    ALCOHOL

    as well as
    MARIJUANA
    and all
    JUNK FOOD
    and
    JUNK WATER
(which comes into your home.... yes you need to filter ALL THE WATER in your house including that which you shower with!)

All this crap, kills your hormone balance I believe.

Please try what I am saying and come back here and give us all an update.

I think you will be amazed.

    QADSAN

P.S. It may be tough at first but once you are over the hump you will also find your mood, sense of well being and general outlook on life will change so much you'll feel like your "high" on life. That's how it was for me, hopefully it will be for you too!

PPS - Also, staying away from all processed foods will help as well. Don't eat any fast food. It's all GMO'd and loaded with chemicals. Try to only eat things which do NOT have an ingredient list on the package. SUGAR is a killer in my opinion and HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN Syrup us even worse!

its very sad that beer was such a large part of your life for you to miss it so much.

Thanks for the tips. I will quit the beer, well maybe just a few Sapporo on the weekend. The other stuff sounds complicated and difficult to manage with all the exercising and internet research I am doing on this subject but I will try to eat organically when possible.

To keep it simple try to only eat REAL WHOLE FOODS.... Most packaged food is processed in some form (except maybe cashews or something etc). Keep in mind, one pint of beer will pretty much kill your HGH for 24 hours not to mention it's not real great for test or estrogen either. If you were 26 it might be different.
