Test patch plus supplements question

Hey guys,

I am 40 yrs and had alot of symptoms of low test like tiredness, cloudy head, loss in strength and muscle tone, and more fat loss. But when my libido went way down hill where even viagra and cialis didnt seem to help, I went to the doctor and he gave me a blood test. He only tested for total test, and that came back to below normal levels. The lab range was 241-800, and I came in at 229.

The dr. then tested my sperm count which came back normal, and gave me a sonogram of the testicles to see if there was any varicolceles or the testicles looked abnormal. Those came back good as well, no varicolcele or testicle abnormalities.

After telling him I dont plan on having anymore kids, and I never used steroids, that the most I used years and years ago, was 4-AD and 1-Test for 6 or 8 week cycles, with only 2to 3 cycles total and never had issues afterwards, he gave me a script for the patches.

I was thinking of using an OTC AI and/or SERM product like the new DS product coming out) or Gasparis Novedex (at like 1 pill a day) to prevent aromatization of the test from the patch if I do have any aromatizing estrogen issues and maybe DS Activate to prevent SHGB and free up more test, or maybe LifeExtensions Super MiraForte, as it has chrysin, peperine and nettle root to prevent aromatizing and SHGB Is this a good idea in general to take some supps to prevent any aromatization and/or SHGB? And if it is a good idea which product(s) would be recommeneded and at what dosages and lengths best taken since this isnt for PCT or anything .

Sorry for the long post and all the questions, and thank everyone in advance for there time and help.

It wasnt the patch the dr put me on, he put me on Androgel, at 3 patckets a day (15gms of test total from the patckets). Would it be a good idea to take a OTC AI and/or SERM product to keep estrogen levels at bay? What would be a good product to take, and how much per day do you guys recommend? Should I take it long term, as in never cycle off as long as I am on Androgel. My goal is just to create youthful levels of my test to regain my sex life, and lose the excess fat I put on and regain the lost muscle.

TRT takes time and patience to get it right. Start off with what your doc prescribes and get a blood test to see where you're at before looking for an AI. Everyone responds differently. Maybe you will respond like me - 6 pumps of AndroGel took my TT from 290 to 900 and cut my E in half! If I had started taking an AI without seeing my BW my E would have been in the dust and I would be feeling worse than when I started.

Go slow.

Also be sure to test for SHBG when you do your bloodwork because if you raise your TT but your SHBG is too high, than your Free T will be low. I also use Activate but the only thing that consistently and effectively lowered my SHBG (56 to 31) was low dose Danazol (prescribed by TRT doc). Again, do BW and speak with your physician.

Good luck and don't be too impatient (it only took me 2+ years to get it right and it's still a work in progress).

OldGator, with the Activate, is that something that you take year round, or do you do cycles of it?

I used to use it as directed 4-8 weeks on, then same time off. However, since being prescribed the danazole I haven't used it on a regular basis as my Free T has increased significantly.

BTW, I used Activate Extreme (the new formula). Many good reviews.
