MPV. Mean Platlet Volume

Does anyone know what the problem might if you have a low mean platlet volume but normal amounts of platlets? I had some blood work done recently and all of it was normal (well thyroid needs a little fine tuning but its ok) except for the MPV? Any thoughts?
