Yep, classified as severe (which we already knew).

Getting (should be ) a Respironics M series with C-flex and humidifier w/ downloadable smart card and full mask.

Ask your doc for sleep-phase data and post it. It's very important and it's missing. You need to find out whether your sleep is fragmented even with CPAP. CPAP doesn't solve everything. Good luck.

How would one be able to solve sleep fragmentation? I'm thinking even after using a CPAP, medication would be needed for that?

I've read a lot about how most people who experience chronic fatigue have alpha wave spikes during deep sleep. I don't know how you'd fix that though without meds to promote deep delta sleep.

They said what they gave me is all they have 9aside from raw data punched into computer (which they say they can't print from PC).

I have decided to go on my own and buy the machine vs the place they reco to buy the machine from as they want double the price of what I can get the same setup for anywhere online.

I am looking at the respironics M series Pro w/ heated humidifier and data clloection.

Should I get the card reader and software as well?

ANy reco's on a good full face mask?

    Thanks.

Yes, this was for sleep apnea.
I never said I had trouble getting to sleep or wakeup frequently, but I have a severe case of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

I too have sleap apnea, and went through four sleep studies. After the CPAP basically didn't work the doc gave up. The best results I have had has been with one of those mouth gaurds that pushes your lower jaw forward. It is a bit tough to get used to but it seems to work. I will choke in my sleep waking up gasping for air sometimes without that thing. My oxygen levels would dip into the 73% range... Not good...

It's my jaw line or lack of they say. The CPAP mostly didnt work for me due to having deviatyed septom surgery and it would irritate the bridge of my nose where they broke it ground it out and put it back together. lol Ah yes good times.

You could try a CPAP and they work for many but not me. Good luck.

Been n=on my New Respironics Auto pap doe bout 4 days now with full mask.

Not the most pleasant thing in the world, but far from the worst.
I have been able to wear the mask full night, every night.

I have brought my AHI down to 2.2 and 1.1 for thepast 2 nights.

My AHI for sleep study was over 65.

    BIG difference.

Feel less groggy and no where near as tired during the day today as usual, but it is still less then 1 week on it.

Dieting was good until I stopped seeing progress after losing about 20-25lbs.

Went off it somewhat for past 2 weeks, but starting next week I am back on diet and back to gym provided my back does not act up again.

In regards to the person who used the jaw protraction device, have you ever tried neck extension exercises? I'm wondering if stretching neck muscles that attach to your lower jaw would make a difference for you??? ...just thinking out loud, not necessarily suggesting this as an alternative to genuine medical advice.

Cool man! I'm using one of these too (silent night brand). I don't have apnea, but snore pretty bad. It's 100% cured my snoring and my wife is so much happier. It took only a couple days to get used to.

I actually kept breaking the bands on my first one, and one night actually broke the plastic guard! My dentist talked to the company and they gave me a new design to try. So far so good!

AS an update, my overall mood has been better (even tho I am going thru a divorce which has it's daily emotional ups and downs.
I have been less sleepy during the day (especially on days when I had very little mask leak and lower AHI numbers).

I have also been motivated to go back to gym and eat right which I have now been doing for past 2 weeks.

As posted in a new, sperate thread, Doc thinks it is also helping my T levels as I tested at 1200 yesterday and have only been taking .3cc (of 200mg per) EOD, w/ 100mg DHEA day and NO HCG.

I am just nervous about dropping T alltogether.

    Mikey

    your SHBG=7

you do not need that much test, look at our previous communications.
but use HCG & Cytomel (at least) and watch your Hematocrit.

With so much test I expect that your SHBG dropped even lower.
If it did, I would rather disregard this number, because it is gotten under distress condition.

    Keep 0.15 till next test.

After the test, money is in Cytomel-T3.

Possibly, even the other way around.

That is, in the future, when your RT3~10ng/dL
we will have to hold on to that number for over 6 months and watch your

    sleep
    body temp
    and (natural) testosterone possibility.

    with that in mind,
hold on to your testicles, do not destroy them,
    use HCG

Size of testicles is not important in this case.

TSH only that will be rather waste of $$
If you cant do a good thyroid test, do not do anything.

Same for me. CPAP gave me bloody noses. I use an oral appliance. But I still don't get truly restorative sleep. My sleep architecture is still a mess. I sleep best when I shouldn't be sleeping, from 8 am until noon. Good luck.

"Only," LOL, that's over 200 mgs per week. That's quite high for HRT. For me, that'd be like a cycle. My DHT would be over 100.

TSH is not a waste of money and should be taken. "Stop the Thyroid Madness," LOL. Much of that site is madness. It's like a damn cult, everyone pitching the same bull****. They think Armor is the be all end all. It ain't. Nor is HC. I think that site does as much harm as good.

    Re-read.
I am not knocking down TSH.
I am just saying, do not do it as the only thyroid test.

Instead of knocking down "Stop the Thyroid Madness",
    check this site
    http://thyroid-rt3.com/

I would not knock down Armour or rather not knock down natural thyroid hormones.
I just think that we should look at them for what they are, T4 + T3

But there are times when people need much less T4 and that part needs to be discussed more, because there are times when we need only T3.
