Question What else to take with iron suplimentation?

Without getting overly complicated what else should I be taking, I know I should start off slowly on iron to try avoid constipation and I am also going to add fibre to my diet in the form of powder.

I have been eating less red meat and more white meat lately due to my appetite but I have had lowish iron for a while now.

My iron level came back this week:
    Ferritin 44ug/L(30-300)
    Red Cell Folate 841nmol/L (776-1784)
    B12 569pmol/L (145-637)

Would low iron also indicate low zinc and magnesium? I think I am also going to add ZMA in taken separate to iron.

I'm not too sure about ZMA and low iron but Now Adam might be worth a try. It contains ZMA, saw palmetto as well as pretty much everything else. Although for some reason it doesn't contain iron!?!?!

Changing the diet is always good as well rather than relying on supps. Has the doctor mentioned anything to you about your diet?

At http://www.healthcastle.com/iron.shtml they mention that beef is a good source of iron so you probably shouldn't give up red meat completely.

I heard multi vitamins dont contain iron because most people have too much but I dont really believe that, I am guessing it might be due to allergic reactions.

I read up on folate deficient anemia and its diagnosed by a low red cell folate level and its treated with folic acid, it doesnt mention iron supplimentation, so I am going to try take a folic acid by itself and see if it improves.

LOL wouldnt I be in a bad position if I was pregnant.
