Help for my Dad

My dad is 60 years old and has type 2 diabetes because he is about 40lbs over weight. He has started exercising again on an elliptical and will start doing weights 3 times a week. What are some supplements he could take to get his Test up and just make him feel a little better? I was thinking some Resveratrol and maybe a low dose of ATD?? Any opinions are appreciated!

The best thing for your dad to do is talk to his physician before starting any supplements. Especially if he is taking presciption meds for his diabetes.

i'd say give him 2tbsp of coconut oil right before bedtime, and then maybe also add nutraplanet's divanex. those two together should have him feeling nicer all around

Number one when dealling with prediabetic state needs to done by a licensce physicians and recommending supplements at this time would not be the advisible at this time before he sees a DR. He needs to get proper hormone evaluation and EVCCO is good but 2 TBSP at a time in this person condition may be over whelming and can cause adverse side effects. One table spoon for a few days would be the logical thing to do and monitor if he has any reactions. Why drop the person shbg even more which is probably already low to begin with? Playing roulette is not the answer and can make matters even worse.

True, starting with 1tbsp would be smarter :) and yeah, definitely need blood tests to really see where he's at first to decide what supplementation makes sense.

Reason being if that person has candida or intestinal infection then it could not him out for over a week. One lady I said start out with 1 tsp a day. She did 1 TBSP and ended up being flat on her ass for 2 weeks because she had candida infection that was running rampant. She eventually recovered, but not after feeling like crap for 3 weeks from die off. Prediabetes have immune issues which need to be properly addressed stimulating that can cause a huge reaction.

My dad did have his blood work done and asked for a Test patch, but the doc told him he was in the "normal range". He prob meant the normal range for a 60 year old which is prob pretty low; I'll try and get a copy of his blood work and post it up.

Jansz you are the last person to be giving nutritional advise LOL

Have him eat small meals with balanced protein, carbs , good fats at each meal. Keep caloires around 300-400 caloires each meal so he does not get eat too much or starve him self, He needs to eat 5-6 smaller meals, If you just cut the sugar you will drop 15-20 lbs in the first 4 weeks with out doing anything different.

Haha yea i remember having those candida issues they we're terrible.

Although whenever i used coconut oil it helped right away rather than made me feel worse even when the yeast infection was at its worst.

Although a Herxheimer reaction is really uncomfortable to say the least.
